Especially when it looked like the majority of the contact was him crossing feet with another ND receiver on the slantThe PI on Poyser was ridiculous considering how much contact they let ND get away with
hat what I’m saying. The DE crashed inside HARD and squeezed the hole. We have ran that play over 200 times since Mario been here! Even ran it several times where the WR went in motion and came back to be the lead blocker and that wrinkle works at times because it doesn’t get ran too oftenOn replay it was clear Brown was trying to cut it back to the left (because ND obviously knew where the play was designed to go: Right Side) when he slipped. ND had a defender in position and ready to stop the cutback. I was ****ed when the play happened in real time, but after seeing the replay it was obvious that play was doomed to fail even if Brown kept his footing.
When I saw the replay I immediately said all he had to do was go where the play was designed he would’ve had it smhI am sorry Stevie....if you cant see it I dont know what to tell you. Go watch the play. The TE stops 47 right where he is. If Brown goes were he is supposed to he gets the first down. He sure as **** wasnt going to get it cutting back.
2) I watched that play several times and Poyser tapped the WRs waist but never actually grabbed or pulled it. Definitely did not pull it. It was as if he thought about it doing it and caught himself. The ND WRs stride was never broken or interrupted. The refs were looking for anything and Freeman made that call.1) Not an awful call but you could have called that on ND all night
2) The replay guys did a poor job showing it but Poyser grabbed him coming out of the break. The aggravating part was 3 similar plays not getting called on ND
3) I only remember the 1 on the goal line stand and it was ridiculous. Haven't seen that called since a high school game in 1993.
4) That was bizarre. You see holding and you throw the flag or you don't. I don't understand overruling with "I don't think it was holding Bob."
5) I'm not sure what you're referring to. But I thought for sure there were gonna give them 1 second there at the end for a miracle lateral play attempt but surprisingly they didn't.
Look, vs ND you *always* have to figure in referee shenanigans. It's just how it is. I'm not even sure they do consciously. We overcame it. And it honestly could have been worse.
Yeah. Was there any explanation on the flag thrown for holding but picked back up?
@Brooklyndee is there someone on staff or someone Mario can trust to work these refs? Seems he doesn't like doing that too much. But it needs to be done. Seriously. This **** is ridiculous and kills the game. Its like them mfers got money on the game.Major complaint with Mario is his reluctance to work the refs. What’s that about? ND coach guilted official to throw a flag on questionable PI along sideline. Clowns like Dabo cry & ranted over every call. Annoying as ****, but he eventually gets a call. Wish Mario would occasionally voice his frustration.
That’s my biggest pet peeve Mario is never working the refs… work them and challenge them on the calls. If their gonna **** you all game at least be in there face demanding accountability
Same thing the guy standing next to the Toney PI call that never even thought about pulling a flag and it wouldn’t have been called if the flag hadn’t come from elsewhere. What was the official thinking here?!?!! How many hands to the face mask do you need for a face mask penalty?!?!?!
Or Carr’s mother. It wasn't just the refs. The entire broadcast leaned heavily towards ND. In between plays it was either a closeup of Freeman or Carr.
Yup...I saw that and so did a few fans around me. UnbelievableJust finished up a rewatch. The 2nd down play on their final drive they had 2 linemen 7 yards downfield on a pass caught past the LOS lol
