Think there’s a chance Redwine goes before JJ? I know Johnson has consistently posted better stats, but the combine made Redwine look like the better athlete.

Redwine going before JJ is likely.

JJ was by far the better college player.

But projecting to the next level - Redwine's excellent athleticism and JJ's poor athleticism means Redwine projects as the better NFL prospect.

Poor athleticism? You mean speed? Those are different things. Redwine put up the faster 40, but JJ made a ton of plays where his athleticism and football IQ were on display. I think his tape will answer more questions than his pro day.

His height and weight are also factored into "athleticism". If he was 6'2" 200+ it would be less of an issue. Being undersized and on the slower side isn't a good recipe for the NFL. 5'10" 191 average arm legth.

Brother...I hate to break this to you, but Redwine is a 95th percentile athlete. Jaquan Johnson is a 5th percentile athlete. That isn't a typo. FIF.

Jaquan Johnson is a negative one point six (-1.6) sigma athlete. A -2.0 is a non-NFL athlete. He's not a testing athlete at a position you kind of got be at least an average league athlete in.

I love JJ as a player...and think he'll have a career, but I think we need to readjust our takes on these two moving forward.

Reuter from NFL.com has a 4 round mock. He has JJ, Redwine, and GW all going in the 3rd. No Canes after that.

Hard to say. I think a younger team, especially defensively the coaches may want JJ for his leadership skill and high football IQ. If the team thinks they’re only a couple players away, one being safety, then might take a flyer on Redwine . Will depend on the need the team is trying to fill as to which of the 2 safeties I think they’ll pull the trigger on. All in all, all I care about is that they’re both drafted and have long, productive careers for themselves, and so Manny and Co. can show the product we put into the league which hopefully helps with recruiting.

I think the order is

Redwine - 6'2 safety with 4.4 speed and a former CB.
Joe - 6'5 DE who on tape looks fast disappointing number might have dropped him.
Willis - 6'1 Size really hurt him but I think his production and quickness gets him drafted high.
Jaquan - His size + combine numbers hurt him a lot.
Homer - solid size, great speed but not enough of a complete RB to go high.
St Louis - Late rounder

Missing mike Jackson

Ed Reed is 1/2 inch taller and maybe 8 lbs heavier. If I'm an NFL exec I'm looking J's career as oppose to a single day for his potential.
Before some of you get carried away, I did not equate JJ to the GOAT.
Have at it.

I checked the combine history for some perspective:

Jaquan
- 150+ Safeties have been drafted in the last 10 years
- Only 2 drafted were under 195 lb. / 4.65 (both in the 5th round)
- JJ tested at 191 / 4.69

Redwine
- 30 Safeties ran a 4.45 or better in the last 10 years
- 24 were drafted in the 5th round or higher
- Redwine ran a 4.44
