Recruits React to the Canes Win in Tally

Recruits got to see what it looks like when a 1 dimensional defense chooses to stack the box and the multi-dimensional offense passes over them to a score of 28-3 then decides they don’t need to throw the ball downfield and also begins to play prevent on defense. Game was never in question—just how bad the over-matched ***-whooping would look statistically.

I would be impressed because they almost came back to win. FSU has no quit in them and Miami did quit in the 4th quarter.

2028 edge rusher Meshi Dobson from Plantation, Fla. “I can see myself reclassifying up to play early at FSU. “Miami, I love their defense. Those guys fly to the ball aggressively. Miami’s defense fits my play style – aggressive and fast. The atmosphere at the game is one of the best I’ve seen.”

“it was definitely a great environment and (Florida State) is still a top school in my recruitment but I had Miami all along and really it was an expectation for them to me to dominate like that and they definitely are the top school right now in my recruitment,” said 2027 four-star receiver Jaden Upshaw from Leesburg (Ga.) Lee County.

Pembroke Pines (Fla.) West Broward four-star cornerback A’mir Sears said: “The environment was electrifying. I have a great relationship with coach (Greg) Moss. So recruiting-wise, FSU will always be there. “Miami is really impressive. To go on the road in a conference rivalry game and perform that way is great. Miami will continue to be at the top of my list.”

“FSU still stands very high in my recruitment because of my relationship with the position coach and Mike Norvell,” Howard said. “My thoughts on Miami dominating was they were executing in all phases of the game and the impact it made on me was watching the o-line open the holes for running backs and watching that made Miami very high in my recruiting as well because (Mario) Cristobal said the only thing he’s worried about is getting the trenches right for me.”

4-star CB Xavier Hasan - “It was a great game, especially at the end. I thought FSU was going to come back, but it was a great atmosphere.”

4-star 2027 WR Jaden Upshaw - “Miami looked great tonight. I had Miami winning the whole time, but I thought it was going to be a closer game. But they came out here and did what they had to do. Malachi Toney put on a show tonight. Really they did great.”

4-star 2027 TE George Lamons - “Great man. Love how they love to ball, competing and everything. Mali (Toney) and CJ (Daniels) are them boys.”

4-star 2027 RB Brayden Tyson - “I thought that Miami started off great and the energy was high and they had a lot of offensive success.”

2027 TE Trae Proctor - “Great win tonight. I loved what I saw and I loved their energy coming into a sold out away game. Definitely moved to my No. 1 school.”

4-star 2028 CB A’mir Sears - “I thought it was a good win for Miami. Florida State will always be a tough game simply because it’s a rival. But they dug deep tonight and pulled out a win on the road. That’s very impressive.”

4-star 2028 EDGE Asher Ghioto - “Man I thought the game was amazing! Both teams I feel like had their ups and downs at some point in the game but Miami was just consistent, and also Malachi Toney played an unbelievable game as usual! Overall I just thought both teams looked good. It’s not an easy task for FSU to go against one of if not the best team in the country and Miami showed why last night.”

4-star 2028 DL Zylen Little - "My initial reaction to the game was that Malachi Toney is one of the best wide receivers in the COUNTRY. The defensive line dominated up front and the win was very impressive and dominant.”

3-star 2028 EDGE Meshi Dobson - “I love the energy of Miami’s defense. I love watching them in person. I feel like their energy rubs off on me.”
