I don't know much about big time recruiting (such as how players are found or even how they are rated) but when I watch some 3* or 4* Qbs I'm not that that impressed with there tape. **** my Qb from high school looks just as good as them if not better but did not get looked at by any decent schools. Can somelne watch his film and tell me what the difference between him and some other 3* or 4* guys I've saw. Thank you in advance.

A highlight tape doesn't define the way a player progresses throughout an entire game. He made some nice throws on the run, didn't see him in the pocket too much, saw a few wobbly throws, but he gets the ball out there. Also, the competition out in NJ isn't the same as Miami or Texas in my opinion.
 
Stars and rankings are just to sell magazines and website subscriptions. Coaches have to make their own evaluarions and trust those evaluations. And seeing the players in person as much as possible.
