Recruiting South Florida

Al does not recruit south Florida. Dude skips over so many elite players down here. When he does, he fails.

From the last two classes alone, which So Fla kids did not receive an offer, or received it too late, do you feel should have been Hurricanes?

I feel like we missed a good 10-15 kids that have no business playing ball anywhere other than Miami.

Since 2012 - All dudes without committable offers or recieved late offers

Traveon Henry - One of the underrated names, but kid is balling at Northwestern. Smart kid from pinecrest who was one of the best basketball players in the area & a great safety.
John battle
Alique Terry
Quay Bain - no committable offee
Eddie Jackson
Juwan Taylor
Chris Hart
Quincy Wilson
Trevon Lee
Madre London (after powell bolted)
Chris Taylor
Jaboree Williams
Tarvarus Mcfadden
Skai moore
edgar Cerenod
Fabian Moreau
isaiah mckenzie
Michael deeb
Rashad Fenton
Shawn Curtis
Adrienne Talan

Obviously not all these kids would've been Hurricanes, but they all should've gotten offers IMO.

No Dowels or Hoggins?

My bad so many names I forgot a few. You know I wouldn't leave my friend Juwan off that list. Thought I had him on there

Looked I'm ****ed about our recruiting efforts. We signed nice classes previously only to see the previous three regimes not develop. Now we see Al recruit what feels like a poor class with lots of kids dissing us.

Now here is my thought/question. After Al was hired he talked about recruiting Sfla. I was in Atlanta when he talked about it. I differ from many of you on Al. I think he has the DNA to be a quality head coach. He has those CEO qualities that Randy and Larry lacked. I ******* hate his defensive philosophy at Miami, like many of you. To circle back around here. Al knows he needs to recruit Sfla. He does. But he isnt successful in doing so. Why? This may sound like an excuse, but it isn't. Why the **** is Al not successful recruiting Sfla? I don't think the answer is singular or linear. Why can't Al close the ******* deals here? Now the ******* feeder schools are sending kids elsewhere. Why can't Al close the Sfla borders? I am as perplexed as anyone on the issue. I think some of it is his philosophy. I think some of it is the university and it's academics. I think the culture of Sfla is another part of it. A question I have is what would Nick Saban's recruiting look like at the U? Honestly, could the third string qb for OSU who led them to the ship have come to Miami? He sounded ******* idiotic to me. Clearly I like Brad K, so the point is more of a general observation. Can we not get kids in that are borderline academically? If I were Al I would go to my boss and figure out what needed to be done to get a "communications" major, or some other major that simply wasn't as demanding for some of the kids. Anyways that is only one sliver of the problem, but I do think it is a problem.

Why hey can't All close the Sfla border? I believe he has the DNA to be a CEO and so it's kind of perplexing.

With all due respect, I think you're showing a fundamental mistake when it comes to Al. He has shown no CEO qualities most notably with his refusal to fire anybody. He has shown no quality coach DNA thus far. You say he knows he needs to recruit South Florida and that he does. The evidence thus far shows that he does neither of those things as evidenced by Kyle's post and his history of disrespect with bad evaluations and late offers.

Couple that with the crummy quality of football and its being the literal antithesis of South Florida, his disrespect/arrogance in regards to South Florida and the city/football community, and lack of development/improvement with a stubbornness to admit fault, adapt, or change and you get the sad state of recruiting and the program.

All the topics you noted for improvement and betterment is stuff that somebody with winning good coach DNA and good CEO DNA would know and have already implemented. Al just double downs and refuses to acknowledge or change to this, the opposite of a good coach/CEO. It may be in his DNA to become this, but it's defunct and he hasn't shown a shred of it yet. I think the fact that you believe he has these coach/CEO qualities is perplexing. What have you seen thus far to believe that? I wish you were right but it certainly doesn't seem so.

Nothing in Al Golden track record says he can be a successful head coach, not his first year, not his last year, not his middle years, NOTHING. He is mediocre at best and people seem to be in a trance with a couple of positives that he has with regards to his pr skills, but nothing in regards to what he does on the field. I am convinced Golden has seduced grown men by the contrast of how inept the previous coach was. (This points directly to the top of the real problem but thats another problem).

Anybody who understands seduction and how contrast works will understand how Golden has grown men swooning over his interviews from Day 1. Now the majority have broken the spell by looking at the merits of on field work but you still have guys to this day who believe Golden is a good coach even though his track record (which are cold hard fact) state otherwise. The contrast between Golden and Shannon is literally and figuratively black and white (not baiting for race), Where Shannon was a hermit with media and hated that aspect and was one of his glaring weaknesses, Golden is able to shine here and disregarding when his parachute didnt open in happy valley he always wins the press conference. Always has catch phrase, always can deflect and evade a direct answer. That makes some guys swoon for some odd reason.

We cant recruit because of same reason we cant win games, Golden sucks, his binder sucks, his staff sucks, his philosophy sucks, etc. He is a loser who steals checks for him and his friends and holds the school hostage. The Bot and everyone at top are even more incompetent than him but we can get into that another time. Get it thru your head, Golden is terrible. Everyone can see that in south florida and until the commitment to actually win games returns to coral gables as sad as it is to say I cant blame any parent for not sending their kid there.

I stopped reading after your first sentence. He is a Macro manager and it's showing in his work. He's predictable and people only "appear to work" when he's around.
