I know this can be an annoying question - but about how many recruits are we expecting to take in this class?

Right now we have 14 commits, Burns and Brady are gone, and are we still dealing with lost scholarships from sanctions?

I don't know the number, but we are not dealing with lost scholarships from sanctions. That is done with, I believe.

Deion is unlikely to make it in as I brought up back in the beginning of December.

So it looks more like its down to 13 commits.

Wiggins was finally contacted but no face to face meeting apparently.

As many as Richt wants to. Why do people bring this up every year? Has there ever been a year where the numbers didn't work out? If he over signs, he will cut some current players. It's that simple!

Geo calculations of 15', 16, and 17' are off plus Golden has been playing with 76 to 79 players for the 2014 and 2015 sanctions years. I want to say that they can use 85 for this year, but only the coaches know the language of the 9 over 3 years scholarship reductions. I can see us shooting for 23 new recruits this year.

I don't recall the source, but I definitely read an article saying that we could take a full 25. Remember that the EE count against last year. And while we may not be off probation, I believe that we didn't have to take 3 scholarship reduction per year- we could take them all in one year or any combo. Since we played so low I believe we've met the requirement for 9 scholarships already and don't have to play short this year.

It had to be 9 over 3 years, starting in 2014, so this should be the last season probably only down to one

Miami Hurricanes Recruiting Radar - Class Breakdown 12/15 - State of The U

"Based on last year, which had 5 early enrollees, Miami could have room for up to 30 incoming players, if all 2015 EEs were counted back towards 2014. If only some of those EEs were counted backwards, the limit for scholarships could be in the 25-27 range. If none of those EE were counted backwards, the limit for new incoming scholarship players is the standard 25."

The point is, we can take a full class.

84 in 2016
85 in 2017

We can take around 28 based on EEs BUT would need 8 kids to depart as we have 15 spots left after the EEs took 5. I'd expect us to sign 20-25 kids knowing Mullins and Jackson may not qualify.

The EEs should count against last year's class, leaving us with 5 more spots for 2016.

every year someone does the numbers by doing the math of how many seniors are departing etc and they come up with some ridiculous small number. never works out that way.
