Record Nine 2014 Canes make NFL 53-man Roster

So this shows the coaches didn't get the most out of their players but doesn't it also show that the players underperformed? Do we blame all of this on the coaches? I think it's in between both extremes. The coaches obviously didn't get to some of these guys to buy into their philosophy. The players obviously mailed it in the last 4 games after losing to FSU. They looked inspired and intense against FSU, the rest of the games, they acted like they couldn't be bothered. There was lack of effort evident all over the field. Embarrassing. Maybe the coaches lost the locker room last year?

It's the nature of the beast that one day you're on the active roster and the next day the team has an injury or another player becomes available for an essential position within a day of having formed a 53-man roster, and you dropped a Chick who had made the roster a day earlier. Regardless where Chick goes, practice squad (LIKELY STEELERS) he'll have to continue hard in working on his craft since he is in a new position.

Happy for all those guys.

Armbrister really came a long way.

when i spoke to him after spring game last year i knew he would be legit. Its crazy he was like an after hought even then.....we were the only people ot call him over to speak to him. He seemed determined and knew his role...he has plus size and nice speed....showed pass rush ability..and always played specials....crazy your going to see a kid go from headed to north coloroda to um then to the nfl. Much props ot my bahamian bredren Thursston Armbrister

Must have had some good coaching.

Lulz @ Golden going 6-7 last season.

The guy is a born loser, a real Munson!

So far, 40% of the starters from the 2014 Miami Hurricanes became NFL players.

Al Golden lost 7 games.

It's a shame because golden could be a championship coach. He has an eye for talent but isn't aggressive enough and doesn't surround himself with good coaches

No doubt about it, the Miami coaching staff can develop talent, they just don't know how to execute with it.

Today the Steelers made even more changes to their practice squad roster. This time, they've added defensive end Anthony Chickillo, their sixth-round pick in the 2015 draft out of the University of Miami.

Chickillo generated very positive buzz at training camp, spurring hope that he would be among the final 53. Now, he finds himself on the Steelers practice squad after a series of cuts and readjustments over the last few days. His former teammate cornerback Doran Grant, a 2015 fourth round pick, was also signed to the practice squad.

lmao. develop talent? they couldnt develop photos at a 24 hour walgreens if their life depended on it.

his best recruiting class at UM was 2012, look how that has turned out.
His best players have been Randy's recruits, the smart ones took off before being subjected to the pillars of death.

You really have to reach to say that something is wrong with the staff if nine explayers made NFL rosters. If anything it's a credit to them for developing them into NFLcaliber players. Not saying they are a high quality staff but this is a plus for them.

you really have to reach to say nothing is wrong with the staff if 9 players made NFL rosters and we went 6 and fkin 7

its a credit to the players, their talent and hard work to overcome this travesty of a coaching staff.
The only credit the coaches get is for hurting their draft grades (and badmouthing them on the way out)

Why is anyone trying to give the staph credit for developing players? If the staph were developing them, we'd see it every Saturday and these guys would have been drafted higher and getting paid more. Oh yeah, and they'd be winning more games too. FOH

You're trying to reason with guys with IQs that place them in the category of Moderate Mental Retardation. They might have some limited life skills, such as securing the Velcro straps on their nondescript beige sneakers, but asking them to reason is futile.

We've got Golden-ites going full ****** all over this board...and on the heels of beating a glorified high school team.

At least they're consistent...not very intelligent.

Poor Al. He only had 9 NFL players last year. Well, nine plus the others still on the team. All you mean fans expecting him to have a winning season with only 50 to 65 % of his starting team as future NFL players.

put another way how many UF and FSU kids were drafted and how many of those were signed? Curious how we stack up to our in-state rivals

We might have been to hard on him. He only had 9 NFL players on the field that we know of last year. You can't expect to win coastal with pro players. You need kids without talent who will do what they a told, gain weight, lift weights and study the pillars.
