I'll be honest, I had us at 2-3 going into the season because of the uncertainty of Beck's arm healing. I was pleasantly surprised until last night.

My son told me he heard a while back the Orange Bowl Boys say we'd go 5-0 and then 3-4 over the rest of the season. That's scary. But 4 INTs are very Van Dyke-like. Given NIL, does something like this ***** up the chemistry? And was it me? Did I just miss it, or did they not show Michael Irvin cheerleading on the sidelines for the first time this season last night for whatever reason?

I still believe they win out the rest of the regular season. I know how hard it is not to emotionally crash out because they lost a game I’m not an emotional guy. They’ll still be the favorite in every game likely by double digits. Yea, I know they were the favorite against Louisville but in reality, those games are outliers.

Miami going undefeated in November last happened a generation ago.

Mario is good for another unexpected ACC loss, maybe two.
Death struggle every game starting next week. Mario will have this team tiiiiiiiiiiiiight like his sideline demeanor.. Hard to just turn around and open everything up when the mindset is scared conservative ball..

They will show up against SMU because the connections with Rhett and the former canes. It’s a game like Pitt or NC state where the coach relies on scheme and the canes are caught sleeping/rusty in the beginning that scares me. We will lose one of those and just miss the playoffs again. Hope I’m wrong.

Yep, I think he will have the team ready and prepared to play SMU. Like you said, due to the connections with Rhett, former Canes, and the fact they were a playoff team last year. The rest of the college football world has us losing that game, but we go in there and win a tough one.

It’s the Pitt game that scares me. Pitt will drop another 2-3 games. We will be favored by 10+ points. All we have to do is win the game and we are in the playoffs. That MF Narduzzi will have his team motivated to play us. Not sure Mario will have us motivated and prepared for that game.

Honestly, any team left on our schedule can beat us. I think we are better than all remaining opponents, but we struggle to put teams away, have no killer instinct, and have no creativity on offense, especially in the run game.

Prepare yourself for 6 more battles, most of them going down to the wire.

If you look at all the games they played they haven't played a complete game. They were aggressive offensively against FSU then went into a shell and let them come back. They continue to have dumb penalties at critical times ending drives. We have no creativity in our running game and our best receiver is a true freshman. We don't really do anything with tight ends. We didn't make any kid of offensive adjustment against.louisville a team with a HC coach who is let's face it a better head coach then ours. They used simple xs and os on us. You can make the argument that if we don't turn the ball over we win okay. Bottom line is most of us don't expect the penalties to stop the offensive philosophy to change so I expect us to maybe lose again to put maybe even SMU. Of course I'd like to be wrong but that is how I see it

Pitt or CJ Bailey revenge game being motivated not getting recruited by Miami until the final stages. Look at Mendoza/ Cal game last year for example. It’s the regular games against mid tier teams who need to scheme to beat us that scare me where we expect to win and no extra motivation.

The Cal game isn’t really a good example. Miami outgained them by 200 yards and Mendoza was 11/22. But if you give up two 50+ yard passes and a pick six the game ends up being too close.

If we didn’t have Ward we would have lost. Mendoza made the plays that mattered to win that game.
