Season was a success UNDER the circumstances.

1. Rosier, on completing 53% of his passes, led us to 10 wins, w/ wins over ND, VT, and FSU
2. No Walton and Richards dang near all season
3. D Jax going down hurt us more than we can ever imagine w him batting down slants and holding the edge
4. Secondary, LB, RB, OL, & TE depth not being up to par or up to Miami standards

Winning 10 reg season games w Rosier at the helm was a miracle in itself, but in the end, the mirage of a miracle season was just that, a mirage. Fact is, we severely over achieved this season. The BCU game told us about this team. In that game, we struggled on both sides. We didn’t dominate that game, and we showed flashes of inconsistencies. This was/is our team; so I won’t take away anything they’ve accomplished this year, but until we get enough Miami Caliber guys on a two deep rotation, we’re going to find ourselves coming up short and disappointed.

Even with that being said, our 10th coach needs to be either an O guy or ST guy. The O is too vanilla, and that ST was non existent. I was most disappointed in the ST this year. The Mullet missed on several momentum changing fg’s in critical moments and our PR and KR was non existent. That has to change, along w our RZ O and 3rd down O and Def.

In this off season, I hope Richt and staff recruit like crazy in the trenches and sure up our DBs. I still find it as a major mistake recruiting ONLY 1 LB this cycle, when it’s clear our LB rotation stinks. At times this team looks fast, and then completely slow side line to side line. It’s not quite Miami, yet....but we’re getting there. 2019 is the year I pegged for us to be true contenders.

It was a fun ride, while it lasted, but this season just inched us closer to the future. The time just wasn’t now...finish strong w the 18 class, and when I mean strong, two Elite OL and the AH 4 or at least 3/4, and we’ll be a step closer to becoming a new era of Miami Football.
