Recall the moment when you “knew” Manny wasn’t the guy

My god....work today was unbearable. I thought for sure I’d be unemployed by days end🙄🙄 **** Manny Diaz and this administration....

The moment it was announced and i texted my buddy to say once again Miami took the easy hire and a guy who while resurrected the Miami D, has made some questionable hires along the way and failed at multiple stops as a DC, so no experience as a head guy who struggled to recruit is concerning. It really didn't make sense to me.

Once he started the salesman job, i began to warm to the idea - there was a little excitement and he seemed like maybe he would be a ruthless young coach is Miami bravado. That ended quickly with those blank stares on the sidelines, the lack of accountability after losses, the spin jobs, and not setting a tone on this program and all those in it (employed or playing) to be ACCOUNTABLE.

Before he ever got hired.......I live near Austin TX and knew back then he was overrated. Just like he is doing here.....beats up on cupcake teams to make his stats look good. I think BYU players are still tired from for 5 5 0 rushing yards in 1 game. 423 thru 3 quarters

I honestly hope Manny rights the ship next year and takes full advantage of whatever good graces this administration give him to try and salvage his HC career. Because Manny is HUGE on data and analytics and the data shows, when you get fired from UM..you never get a HC gig again.

and so if we beat Duke on Saturday will u go schizo again? reminds me of folks who cant decide if they want to vote dem or repub. just totally changing with the wind.

the win streak was not a win streak of any note. it was three bad teams we beat. anyone who took that as some sort of turning the corner moment is a drooling vegetable.

The Gator game. Dude looked like a deer in headlights and his team played like ****. He didn't even know he had a kicking problem either. Dude is a fraud and us in way over his head

For me, I had hope in the off-season b/c he seemingly was talking about all the right things. My first moment of doubt was when he was interviewed on the sidelines briefly before the UF game started. Reporter asked him a question and he had some answer like "I told the players to play the intensity that the players that came before them played with" or something like that. I kind of rubbed me the wrong way a bit but I chalked it up to a nothing burger. FFWD a few months later and it's a microcosm of his problem - he's too busy in recreating some sort of false bravado by having guys wear crazy stuff on cane walks, new rings, talk trash, show them film of prior players, etc., rather than try to put his own legit stamp on the team and instill discipline, etc/.

Thanks for bringing up the Canes Walk. I had always remembered them wearing their warm-ups. This year it was like watching Fashion Week in NYC

Haven’t heard or seen yet. Not all great coaches com from HC experiences. Manny is having to learn so things on the fly which include some humble pie... I was Delusionally hopeful we could bypass those steps but it’s clear you can’t. I still think Manny gets overall picture and feel for Miami and can make them great again, but these loses to former bosses in Dan Mullen, Mac brown, and former Miami coach Butch the fuc*ing Davis show manny there is no short cut. Let’s see what he can pull out of this recruiting class and give him one more year to see if he is up for the job. I think the #TNM Still has a chance but unfortunately has to see some results on the field for it to stick. I think it’s hard to break a cycle of mediocrity over a series of multiple head coaches, which point to deeper issues among the players who choose Miami.What I have seen many do as a defense of coordinator is identify things that were not working well and make changes to make those things that lacking a point of emphasis. So as long as he can keep doing that, And be willing to make the changes including coaching personnel changes that he initially started with we will be OK. But I do believe he deserves at least one more season. After that all bets are off

When he was hired from Richt’s failed staph, by an obviously incompetent AD, with no time to have made a reasoned decision, and no process to compare and contrast.
 
Honestly, the Dan Enos press conference after the UF game SHOOK me. He literally did everything he could to not win the game and then he did nothing but sh*t on JW the entire presser. That was a red flag
