Wonder if the ankle was still bothering him? 3 tackles for a middle LB is not very many. Anyone know if his snaps were down?

UVA, BC and GaTech will be a true test for our LBs. Shaq has had an avg year thus far, I hope he gets healthy for the back half of the schedule

You on a roll with the negative threads. DL was dominating and living in the backfield.

So legitimate questions are negative threads? Pinkney had 5 tackles a TFL and pick. Mike Smith had 3 tackles and a TFL. Shaq had 3 tackles. Just wondering if anyone noticed the ankle still bothering him or if his plays were down because of the ankle.

I understand the DL is swallowing most run plays up.

Big Boys ate all day. Shaq is a Warrior & is fighting through an ankle. Treatment + rest this week & he should be back at full speed. We need all hands on deck this week.

We will be playing an inspired Virginia team.
So it's time to hit stick & bust ****. Talk **** all night Saturday.

Agree with everyone who said the D-line did their job, so the LBs didn't have to. It's a beautiful thing to see.

I was at the game. With the D getting so many TFL's and constantly causing 2nd and 3rd and long, Pinkney was often the only true LB on the field. There were A LOT of plays where we had 3 DL, Pinkney and 7 DB's (Finley, Smith and Carter are still more SS than OLB in most situations). The play where Redwine caused a fumble was a coverage sack. With 5 guys manned up and the sole LB spying Francois he had nowhere to throw hot. Redwine and Finley came from his blindside side by side and the blindside guard was occupied with the tackle.

Beside Savannah St, this was the most dominant game yet for our D. Held FSU to 200 total yards and 3.1 yards/play.

Not the type offense where he would shine. I'm hoping to see him dominate Pitt.

Legitimate question for you. Did you want shaq out wide covering up wide receivers to get more tackles? He caused errant throws by being in throwing windows to the TE late in the game. Pinckney is a much more penetrating line backer than shaq, which is why sometimes Mike runs himself completely out of a play. He played just fine and affected the game a lot more than you think just not on the stat sheet.

Shaq was really showing out at UNC and I still think FIU was more dominant... Held them to less than a yard per rush and like a single yard in the first half and I think 50 yards total up until later in the third Q or even 4th Q when we played essentially every freshman.

Shaq's # of tackles doesn't always show the big picture. He makes all the calls and adjustments, fills gaps, gets in throwing lanes, etc.

Pinckney made numerous plays so there's no need to make excuses for Shaq. We can admit he didn't do much against FSU - it might have been because he's injured.
