If the Team does not show up for the Bowl game there might be a shot Golden's replaced or at least some of the coaching staff...

I would never root against The U but something has to be done with this coaching staff.. It's a joke already, Blake James & the rest of the administration have got to grab the Bull By The Horns and force Golden's hand to replace No D & others on his staff.. If not Show Fat Albert the Door...

OP is a clown, so because it doesn't seem likely we should accept and support it. Thats the problem Miami has, fans who stand for nothing. I will be against that clown until he is gone. He will never ever think again everything is ok. Kizz my ***.

BC James came out and said it ysterday **** head. Read my post and realize I want Golden gone but it's not happening. IMO next year is his last if there isn't significant improvement. I know it's easy to pick and choose what you want to believe, read or hear but the FACT is he is here to stay for next year minimum. It's not my choice so giving me crap for stating what is reality is laughable.
Randy threw in the towel his last year so giving Golden credit for out recruiting is a plus in my mind.

The team only gets so many bowl practices so whining about time off is also laughable. The coaches are using the time to get out into HS, and homes to recruit. The team is still working out. It's not like they are at home eating snickers waiting for Golden to say hey guys it's time for football again.

Let's play the Devils advocate hear and say that we can have unlimited practices before a bowl. Would it be beneficial to practice and not get out and recruit as much? Would it also make you guys happy that a 6-6 team is practicing more for game everyone wants us to lose anyway?

What my overall point is that we as fans need to pick and choose realistic reasons he should be fired. 6-6 record is a realistic reason but the decision has been made he is coming back and put out to the public.
When you start nit picking every thing they do it starts to fall on deaf ears. Pick your battles wisely.
 
OP buys chocolate for his rapist and asks him if there was anything he could have done better.

Easy fellas. Im holding out hope we lose the bowl game and Golden does what we all think he will do and keep this staff in tact. Then we can start calling for his head and James head again. There is no possible way James can accept anything less if Golden is to be retained which has been said he will be.
I just trying to say right now, there is nothing we can ***** about that is going to change what James said yesterday. I think what I staid above could possibly do it though.

You know, I went back and read the transcript more carefully, and Blake James never actually says that Al Golden will be the coach next year:
Q: Do you feel any differently about this coaching staff now than you did at this time a year ago?


“No. This time a year ago we were just coming off what was a very interesting season, one in which we had the NCAA sanctions handed down I think probably the sixth or seventh game in. We started out 7-0 and then hit a few bumps down the road there and finished up with the bowl game where we had a disappointing performance against Louisville. So again, right now, we’re not through the season. After I get a chance to look at the entire season, including the bowl game, I can probably answer that question better. We could go out and play an incredibly great game against South Carolina and I’m going to feel one way. And we could go out and not come out on the end we want to and I’m going to feel a different way. I think it’s important to keep it in perspective. So to answer your question I don’t feel any different, but I feel it’s important to evaluate things holistically. After the bowl game is over, I’ll really reflect on the entire season and talk with Al about it. As I’ve said numerous times over the past few weeks, he’s our coach. He’s going to continue to be our coach. With that said he knows we have to get better. I know we have to get better. So I need to talk to him about how we can get better and what I can do to support his efforts to getting better. Because at the end of the day that’s the expectation of the University of Miami football program.”

Sure, he implies that Golden will "continue to be our coach" after the bowl game, but that's not what he says. Whether he's deliberately leaving the door open to canning Golden if the team DOESN'T get better for the bowl game, I couldn't say. But he could have said, "no matter what happens, Al Golden is our coach next year." And didn't.
 
I'm still not convinced that he survives a bad bowl performance given all the decommits and apathy. Maybe he does but I suspect a horrid bowl game would re-galvanize momentum against him.

In any event, even the most level-headed fan has to understand that a lot of fans feel that there's little recourse EXCEPT to withdraw your support for the product. Fans can't coach the team and can't fire the coach. The only thing they can do is not give money or support the program. So some will do that. It's only natural, and unfortunately the players suffer. But Golden has to win games or James has to fire him--otherwise the mix of apathy and vitriol is not going to stop.

Reality is he needs to go and is not qualified for the job.

Reality is AD's and admins in general lie or deceive the media/fans all the time prior to making a big decision.

Reality is Miami is probably going to lose their bowl game.

Reality is Miami would then end up with 7 losses in Golden's 4th full year.

Reality is....this isn't over yet. He could still get fired.

Reality is...if they don't next year will be a wasted year, in an even more empty stadium, with minimal fan support and horrible recruiting class.

So let's see what happens...it's childish and stupid to look to far into the future at this point. I've been following sports long enough to know a lot can still happen, and when it does happen it will happen relatively quick and probably when we least expect it.

Will do. Last week did me no good hoping something was going to happen. I wasted too much time reading into these boards bc I thought there was a chance he was gonna be let go. Now that we know it's not happening til the very least Monday/Tuesday after the bowl if we lose, I will relax and let it play itself out.

Whether he somehow miraculously wins the bowl game or not he needs to get the f from behind the wheel of my football program, and if any of you are sick of reading me say that then I kindly invite you not to read my posts.

Besides, what f else is there to talk about on the UM football board?
