Realistically, how long does Manny get?

Stuck with him this year and next. The Bama game week 1 of '21 will be the make or break. If we lose 48-10 or something, he won't make it through year 3.

I wonder what his contract is. I'd assume based on the track record of ineptitude, he will have a substantial buyout for this year and the next two after. He signed a 5 year deal. I'd imagine after a 3rd year it will drop significantly. I have no idea just guessing.

Something that could facilitate a quicker exit if neccessary is replacing James as AD. That move needs to be made immediately. He is solely responsible for this hire.

Yeah that timeline makes sense for what the administration will do.
The amount of improvement that we need before the bama game to just be competitive is unimaginable.

You can guarantee we gave a first time head coach a contract with the most unfavorable term for us.
Build in extension as well.

At the present level of play, we don't make a bowl and he'll be fired at the end of the season. Recruitment will totally tank whether he's fired, or not.

For him to be fired after this season we would need to go winless in ACC games (even that may not be enough). With the wretched state of the coastal division, I think that is highly unlikely.

Going to depend on how bad we are, but he probably will be given at least 3-4 years. On the plus side he’d be a relatively “cheap” fire.

Replacing Manny only matters if we have a qualified AD to hire a real coach. If we tank this year, Manny is fired, and Blake hires the next coach, you can bet money it'd be another head scratcher.

Blake James needs to be terminated immediately.

I wish we hired Mario...

He won't get 4 years like this. Recruiting would completely collapse and nobody would be showing up to games. He has 2 years plus week 1 of year 3 to get things going.

With our administration I think the only way he gets fired year one is if there is a scandal.

If we don’t win 9-10 games this year or next, he’s gone or at the very least on very hot water after 2 years

There’s plenty of talent on this team

Blake James is the real problem though

We are way more likely to lose 9 games this year than win 9 games. This team is worse than Randy's 5-7 team in 2007.

I agree. I’m counting the season he gets fired in in this projection. He won’t be able to sustain the TNM stuff if the results continue to be this bad and once recruiting collapses so does the whole ship.

If he does something like 6-6 with a class in the 30's we should just spin the message as us getting caught with our pants around our ankles when Richt retired unexpectedly and panicking.

Cut ties, thank him, and move on.
