One of the common themes around here recently is the need to change our offensive philosophy and hire a true offensive coordinator (no offense Mr. Brown, but you're not that guy) to call the plays. @TimeB0mb got me thinking today about what a realistic shortlist for offensive coordinator would look like. Important considerations for me are a young OC with a fresh perspective and playcalling experience at the college level. Salary considerations and our ability to pull them from their current job will also factor in for obvious reasons. Curious what you all think and who you might put on the OC shortlist. To start of...

Kendal Briles is probably an obvious choice, but the cat's been out of the bag on him since Baylor. May be difficult to pull him from his alma mater, but he's clearly killing it at Houston this year. Not sure how realistic a choice he actually is, because his philosophy and implementation is so different than what Richt (and most other coaches) is used to.

Jake Spavital at WVU is a young, up-and-coming type that I would hope UM could afford and pry away from his current employer. Worked with Manziel and now Grier, so there are some selling points for potential recruits at the QB position.

when mork richt came to Miami he said "my biggest mistake at Georgia was giving up playcalling and I WILL NEVER MAKE THAT MISTAKE AGAIN"

if anyone has trouble with the meaning of that statement , call 1-800-TRANSLATE

Exactly. And this is why the planes need to fly asap. Why people can't understand this.

Theres no realistic OC list, because us hiring an OC is unrealistic.

I really dont understand why you guys start a new thread for this every ******* day.

As long as Mark Richt is at UM, he will be calling the plays. Period.

If by some act of God, Richt comes to his senses and decides his offense isnt cutting it, then we will hire some ******* like Mike Bobo.

Forget about this OC ****. It is not happening.
