Realistic Chances of T-Rob As DC

So I did my research on Mark Stoops and T-Rob. We all know that Stoops was a great DC, and that he started out as a DB coach for many years before becoming the DC at Arizona, then FSU.

Now, T-Rob has been a DB coach for approximately 6 years, and is obviously looking for a job. Sometimes you have to promote people in order to convince them to come work for you. How would you feel about him becoming the DC and also coaching the DB's, or, how do you feel about him just coaching the DB's, if we can convince him to come for the same position/pay?

PLEASE, no arguing, and personal attacks. Let's just talk some football.

Dumb thread. You're looking to scapegoat assistants. It's useless and worthless when the HC sucks.

On top of that, why would Folden fire the guy he called "the best in the business" after fielding a top 15 defense when he didn't fire him after the two worst seasons in UM history?

Exactly

TRob hates Miami.

Goes back to his HS days when he wasn't recruited by Miami IIRC.

Dorito isn't going anywhere with our defense ranked #15 unfortunately.

This, plus I still haven't seen anything to suggest that this guy would make a good DC. He's a DB coach. How does that make him a DC? We know the Stoops story, but that doesn't mean every DB coach would make a good DC. I'm just not seeing what T-Rob boosters are seeing.

Homie arguing and personal attacks for some reason is like mandatory on this board. It's crazy....but anyway, if D'Onofrio leave I think T-rob would be an excellent choice. He learned under a great defensive mind in Muschamp and is an elite recruiter. Plus he's born and raised in Miami.

If not DC we should definitely aggressively pursue him as DB coach.

Notice I said if D'Onofrio leave....he ain't getting fired.

Dave Aranda from Wisconsin or bust. He can coach LB's and be the Def Coor.

This would allow Hurley Brown to then be moved to coach DB's, and UM could hire Kevin Patick to coach the dline. This wold give UM three strong recruiters on the defensive side as well three very technically sound coaches. UM could take williams salary to supplement what Donofrio was making an offer Aranda $600k and offer kevin patrick $150k since he is making $80k now at North Texas. Aranda is making $480k now so offering him $600k would be a $120k nominal increase, with $170k being the effective increase ( since FL doesn't have a state income tax were as Wisconsin's tax is 8%). The south florida cost of living increase is offset by the sunshine weather premium, which people pay happily.

Go Canes

I'd rather have Muschamp (not saying it's realistic). I think it's tough to argue that he wouldn't have our defense playing like savages.

I get that mindset for kids when they're still playing, but at some point it's time to grow the **** up. If he wasn't recruited because the coaches didn't think he was good enough, guess what? Every one of those coaches save for Kehoe are gone. If he wasn't recruited because they thought he was a grades or behavior risk, guess what? That president and that AD are both gone. How spiteful do you have to be to say, "These people want to give me a promotion, a raise, and a chance to work in my hometown, in place with the most NFL talent on Earth. But no thanks, I'm looking to keep cashing these SEC checks in Bumble****, AL."

Miami's only hope sort Golden and Dorito getting matching pink slips is that it's Golden who has been running the defense, or at the very least dictating strongly how he wants it to be ran. Then come the end of the year Golden tells Dorito that he's his boy so he doesn't want to fire him, but if another job comes along he should take it.

Wasnt it rumor that it was miami that narked out t-rob and caused him to get fired??? I dont exactly remember the story...

We just fielded a top 15 defense. If you're telling me we should hire him b/c donofrio is a cancer and is a sh1tty recruiter, I might buy it. But if you're telling me we should hire him b/c our defense would be better, then it doesn't hold much merit.

T-Rob seems to be good recruiter. That always matters but there is nothing to say he is DC material. Have gator dbs really done well under him? I don't pay attention to the slimes unless it is to cheer their losses.
