Real Question: Why do we beat BC and why do we lose to BC?

We win bc we are better plain and simple.
We lose only if coaching is bad particularly defense bc they got a good RB.

They'll be a tough out for sure, but like several here I watched the Wake game and they lack speed, and I think will struggle because of that. Wake ran for 300yds and started a TF at QB.

Why we will win: they have a bad defense. 500+ yards to Wake, which is a bad club. Wake was taken to overtime by Tulane.

Why we will lose - I think it's their red bandana game - which gives them a FG at least. And they are a balanced offense.

I think they’re a good very tough team with a Heisman caliber RB, a good accurate QB, and a strong pass rush. This isn’t a fluke team, and I expect them to beat some top teams.

I think they will give Clemson their best game in the ACC and they get Clemson at home.

Wake is a good team, and that freshman QB is better than Rosier. We should be able to score on them no doubt. But Rick has a tendency to play right into the strength of opposing defenses.

And Brown will most likely eat Diaz’s loose coverage for dinner. There will be wide open receivers, and he’s shown the ability to be very accurate. Not to mention, Dillon is the best RB in college football.

We should smoke them. Even with Rosier.
I wish this were true, but they are a good team and are more disciplined than us. They don't have nearly the overall talent as us, but the studs they do have are equally sprinkled on the D and O.

If we don't get above average play out of our QB on 1st and 2nd down, we lose this game. Not challenged in the game - lose the game!

We looked like *** against lsu, and yet...

Every year there's hand wringing over GT, and every few years over BC as well. It's not that teams like that aren't potentially dangerous, it's just that we'd have to beat ourselves pretty badly to lose to them. They are well coached and all that, but they just don't have the players. So yeah, they could beat us but not without quite a bit of our help.

And also? al beat both of those teams.

The BC QB throws a very nice deep ball and looks to be a problem. Wouldn't surprise me to see them beat someone they aren't supposed to beat this season, because they seen like a well-coached team with talented players who won't beat themselves. Miami has more talent across the board than WF, but if []__[] don't show up to play and execute accordingly they will be a problem for sure.

I understand what you're saying, but I think this year is different. As Franchise said, they really are a solid team. We won't be able to run against them unless we can pass 1st and they have a better D than they've shown in some of the games where they gave up some yards. They will totally be as high as a Georgia pine when we come to their stadium.

We can't come out and run on 1st and 2nd like normal (which is normally ineffective). We've got to come out slinging the ball with safe throws that Malik can make, to loosen up the box. If we don't, man. it does not look good. If we do come out throwing effectively, then we can and probably should win this game.

Things change and so we'll see where both teams are at once we get to this game, but as of right now, it's a toss up, with, perhaps, a slight edge toward BC. Why oh, why didn't Mark prepare one of the other QB's during the Spring, we will never know.

I hear you.

The thing is, I always assume we'll beat teams like this, because even with our issues we should. I get that, like Pitt, they are capable of beating us if we let them. It's just that I won't believe it unless I see it.

Same with GT and Pitt. The potential is there, but they'll have to earn my fear.

Having said all that, I think it's unlikely we win out from here. There's nobody except VT who should be much of a threat, but the chances of us shtting the bed are just too good for me to be confident. The thing is, I can't bring myself to believe any single team will beat us. We're just as likely to lose to UNC as BC...not because they're any good, but because we can lose to anyone.

Makes no sense, but there you are.

With our current QB and OL situation coupled with underperforming LB's and the appearance that ACC OC's have caught on to what Diaz is dialing up, I am legitimately concerned about BC.

They have stud players in key positions, a very good OL, a soul crushing RB, solid D and we're playing at their house.

We're not going to win by jamming the ball down their throats, so we HAVE to get performance out of our passing game.

Also, this is not a game Diaz can blitz us to victory. He's going to have to play chess with these guys.

I bleed O&G so I think we pull it off, but this is a SERIOUS test.

Can I up and downvote this
