Real INvestigated story at UGA & its Dysfunctional Coaches

Names like Jimbo Fisher, Dabo Swinney, Mark Dantonio, David Shaw, Jim Mora, Gary Patterson and James Franklin would all come up initially with other potentially available big names like Bill O'Brien certain to be linked with Georgia. There is no guarantee any of those coaches would be interested, that is the kind of list Georgia could and should pursue, according to multiple people in the industry.

I can't help but notice the distinct difference in this list from many of the lists floated for UM.

Regardless of the reality of those people as true candidates, that is because Miami and Georgia are not equivalent jobs. Georgia is a really good job, quite probably a top 10 job nationally. The simple fact is that Richt has underperformed in that environment for years.

And Miami isn't?

If you want to win a national championship, UM has got to be one of the top 10 jobs nationally. Where else do you have repeated examples of winners, access to loads of ridiculous talent, a relatively weak P5 conference, and instant notoriety? And Miami loves a winner. I don't think there's a better front running city besides NYC. You want to make a name for yourself, Miami is the place to do it bright lights and big expectations.

O'brien may leave the Texans although doubtful. They say he's ****ed because he wanted to draft Carr and the Texan brass overruled him because they didn't want another Carr at QB in Houston.

Look how good Carr is performing in his 2nd year and Houston just cut Mallett

Not sure if that's true. But if so, they have no room to fire him. Carr's performing a lot better than many thought he would.

That came straight from a report on NFL network that during the draft he wanted to select Carr and was overruled. He felt that Carr was the best NFL ready QB.

Texans didn't want to draft Carr #1 overall and they wanted the big name in Clowney. So at the beginning of the 2nd round O'Brien wanted Carr and was overruled again. 2 picks later the Raiders grabbed him

This is the most frustrating part of the new search. No, Miami is not a top 10 job and this is where the slurpers get it wrong. Follow your logic. If you want to win a national championship you need: a football first school that is serious about football, the real resources to pursue a championship (like indoor practice facilities, cool locker rooms, real assistant coach salaries, etc.), to be in a Power 5 conference, a manageable recruiting base, and something else in terms of "it".

Miami has a serious recruiting base for speed players. Likely the best in the country. But we have to go elsewhere for DTs and QBs and now everybody recruits SFL. There is no fence anymore. Our "it" is the number of players we put in the NFL, but the most prominent of those pre-date our current recruits. We play in a winnable conference, but we don't win it and recruits notice.

Better jobs, right now? Watch our search. See if Georgia opens up. As we see the candidates, ask yourself if we are really going head to head with USC and/or Georgia. Perhaps the applicants, you know those who do this for a living, view this differently than internet posters.

And look at our finalists in the last three searches.

And yet we have 5 championships. And Georgia has 2. And ours were more recent. How could that be?

Conveniently avoided the last line of the prior message, didn't you? If this is such a great job, why have we experienced the candidate pools (plural) we have? Again, watch who pursues Georia versus us if Georgia opens up. Then we can talk apples to apples.

Nope. I didn't avoid it at all. Please, if you will, list the coaches who clamoured to replace the mighty Ray Goff, or the illustrious Jim Donnan. Perhaps successful NFL coaches will reach out to Georgia, maybe even some of the best coordinators in the league. Such things would never happen at lowly Miami, right?

There's a change in the winds, my friend. I'll be happy to talk apples in a few months.

Yet the last time the UGA came open they hired a college coordinator to fill it--Richt. These grandiose lists are retarded. UF has had its job open several times, and the lists are always full of guys like Bill Belichick and Vince Lombardi. Then, they wind up having to hire Zook, or Muschump or a relative unknown Group of 5 guy like McEltooth.

This. They are just throwing names to throw them out there. Why would a California born, Stanford alum want to leave his HC job at Stanford to go across the country and retool UGA?
