Good article. Nails it nicely. I only differ in that AD should call him in and say, “ it is your job to decide if you keep your staff or not. It is my job to decide if to keep you or not! I need your plans next week.”

Im a big fan of Vish but I'm not sure he's completely on point here. I still side with MR in pulling and benching Perry at UVA. He was lost and admittedly did not have enough of a grasp of the offense at that point. I think Vish is off on that point.

The lack of diverse and creative thought among the offensive staff is completely on point in my opinion. THAT is where the devil sleeps in this story.

I truthfully don’t think it can be summed up any better than this.

Absolutely 150% nailed it. My thoughts, exactly. I honestly don’t see how a single person could disagree with any of this...really well done by the author.

The Devolution

Nah,

Last week N'Kosi missed Brevin streaking down the field because he locked in on Thomas and isn't comfortable standing in the pocket. Malik is not talented enough to push the ball down the field and teams play single-high all day on him. Add to that our OL is very inconsistent and undisciplined. Last season when we won 10 straight and, while we weren't playing well, nobody was calling for Richt's head.

We need a baller at QB.

That about covers everything from pro cmr to fire cmr. Great article. Cmr essentially made his own bed and appears to want to sleep in it. He’s going into 2019 with the hottest seat in the country.
Problem is what will the bot consider success in 2019? The bar has been set so low this season. If we start off the season losing to the gates it’s over.
No way we should accept a loss to those dudes and mentally the team will check out. I’m calling it here. We lose to the lizards on national tv opening weekend and no way anyone on that team will have any reason to buy into any magic beans cmr is selling. It’s basically a home game for them and this squad has not shown the mental toughness to play away and that’s cmr fault. Hard rock will be a **** ghost town next year if we get embarrassed by jortville inbred U.

I think Richt should have pulled Perry as well. But the mistake he made was keeping Rosier in the entire game. Perry should have gotten another chance to come back in. I really feel like his confidence was shattered after that. He knows now if he makes a mistake Richt will pull him. Richt has to have more trust in his young Qbs.

I was on the other side of that opinion as well, once I found out the specifics. On the 2nd INT Perry checked into that play then threw a pick into triple coverage. When MR asked him what he saw to make him change the play, Perry had no answer. MR could not muster up any confidence in him. As long as the Coastal was in play, the best QB needed to play on a game by game basis. Perry wasn't ready @ UVA.

Ive said it before. Perry was able to get by in life with raw athleticism and talent alone his entire life up til the UVA game. Perry needed to learn how to learn, I think. Now that the Coastal is gone, its time to develop some younger players. Im hoping to see plenty of freshmen play over the next couple weeks.

1. Wrong Vish - you may not care about donations, but the school does. Having said that, there is empirical verification that wins increase donations. So, win.
2. This is dead on - "His overall conservative approach to offense, the risk-averse nature of his decision-making, is ill-suited for success at a school that has and will always rely on explosion to win games." Miami wins on the big play. Always has. In all three phases. Dead. On. Point. This cannot be overstated as the administration, if serious about football, addresses the next HC (2020).

Ready or not, Perry needs to learn. Being thrown into the fire is sometimes the best teachable moments. I don't think big scary UVA rattled him. Perry just got careless. We've seen the throws Perry is capable of making. I think @Roman Marciante said it best, he just needed coach to grab him and calm him down. Jr should be on the sideline for these young QBs during these moments. Coaching him up and telling him what UVA was doing. Thomas the fake *** OC should be sitting with him and breaking it down in real time. These kids come off the field and go and sit by themselves or other teammates. Pathetic coaching. Overall, Rosier should have never seen the field again after FSU.

Richt is not capable of leading Miami to anything more than Rice/SMU/Duke/Wake/Vandy performance expectations.

Is that what the BOT wants (who actually get a vote)? Ok, then say it and be done with it.

REAL WORLD. That's how I manage, and it is how I am accustomed to being managed.

Everytime people say “Give him another year” I can’t think of a single time this has ultimately worked out. Remember Clappy firing his assistants how did that workout when we gave him “another year”?

We have been down this exact same scenario in the past. As a consequence of giving Rick “another year” I believe we are seriously fvcked.

There will be some major changes in the program by next year for one simple
reason.....MONEY and SEASON TICKETS.James and the U president will not
let that fall because too much money made if full stadium.

That is exactly what the AD should say... it is Richt's bed to make and to lie in.

You can only choose the path, not where it's leading to.
