Yeah, I just turned 40 and when we lost the Fiesta Bowl I was a senior in high school. The other thing is the expansion of the playoff has made the postseason bigger. It’s not one game each team and see what happens so I think it’s something we all still have to get used to, but yeah, I’m very happy. I also didn’t know I would graduate from the U at the time either. I think to celebrate in Miami on our home stadium after a 24 year drought would be something very special.I hear you. Genuinely. That should always be the expectation.
BUT
I’m almost 44 years old. The last time Miami was this relevant nationally, I was 20. The difference in my life from 20 to almost 44 is face-melting. It’s been a long, long, long time. And nothing is guaranteed, but this seems to be the beginning of something built to sustain.
Considering it’s been 24 years, I’d have voted for “pig in an Olympic sized pool of ****” if it were an option. This is incredible. It’s Christmas and everywhere I turn I see The U. Been a LONG time, boys and girls.
