Alot of UGA people think we have a very good chance with Nauta. He loves Richt...

So much so that we are NOT in his top 3.

Nobody said he's coming including GF.. I don't think we have a chance but this guy love CMR, we'll see I think he goes to Michigan to many ties there and I think he's just hyping up that he's open when he really isn't

Just let him visit. Nobody thinks he's coming so everybody needs to stop acting like its a possibility but its always fun to have a 5* on campus

Rashan Gary, coming off a 6-sack performance, talks Rutgers, overall recruitment and Don Bosco matchup
By Todderick Hunt October 9, 2014

Rashan Gary, the top junior in the country according to Scout.com, is coming off a dominant performance against Bergen Catholic (Oradell, N.J.), where he recorded nine tackles for loss, six sacks and a blocked punt which he recovered in the end zone for a touchdown.

The Paramus (N.J.) Catholic coaching staff simplified the defense for the 6-4, 290-plus pounder and challenged Gary to perform up to his potential after feeling his way with his new team and new role (he transferred from Scotch Plains-Fanwood this past offseason), over the first few weeks of the season.

And Gary responded like the top player in the country should.

"It was just me just getting a hold of the defense," Gary, he No. 2 player in the NJ.com Top 50 told NJ Advance Media. "And coach gave me a game plan that shows off my talent. They just told me to go get the quarterback. That's it."

Gary hopes to continue his momentum as his team plays the top ranked football team in the nation (according to three national poles) – The Don Bosco Ironmen – Saturday at Paramus (N.J.) Catholic.

"It's just the same thing," he said. "We've just got to play solid and don't make mistakes because whenever you make mistakes, Don Bosco is gonna capitalize off them."

Gary, whose latest offers have come from LSU, Auburn, Kentucky, Indiana, Arizona, Wisconsin and Purdue, also elaborated on his recruitment.

He was scheduled to attend the tail-end of Rutgers' 26-24 victory over Michigan last Saturday, but was unable to make it. It was already understood that Gary would be late, as his team played Bergen Catholic at 4 p.m. ET that day, but by the time he left the playing field, it was already well into game time, which began at 7 p.m.

"I didn't get there, but I watched it on TV," said Gary. "It was a good win for them. (Kemoko Turay) had a big block. It was nice. I wish I could have been there, though. It seemed live when it was on TV."

Gary also answered questions about his meeting with Rutgers head coach Kyle Flood and top recruits Kareem Walker and Jarrett Guarantano this past August.

Apparently, the group discussed the possibility of staying home together, while the recruits recommended additional players they'd like to play with, who Rutgers hadn't offered at the time.

"We sat with him (Flood) about it before," said Gary. "Who wouldn't love playing with Kareem Walker and Jarrett (Guarantano)? My friend Michael Dwumfour (a class of 2016 DL who recently transferred from Scotch Plains-Fanwood to DePaul), I threw his name in there. We were basically throwing names around of kids who we think we can win a national championship with."

However, at the moment, Gary is completely open to every school recruiting him. But that could change in the near future. He says he's also looking to cut down his list to, at most, a top 15 over the coming weeks, as it'll be impossible to visit each and every school on his own dime.

"I've got to lower my list," he said. "Right now, I'm at 40-something and I need to get down to 10-15."

Gary has yet to set up future visits to any school, but says Miami (Fla.), USC, Rutgers and Ohio State are some of the programs recruiting him the hardest. Although he's taken his accolades and endless opportunities in stride, Gary admitted he does examine his options in his spare time.

"When I'm at home and I have time, yeah, me and my mom do talk recruiting," he said. "Like, me and my mom totaled up the offers that I've got. Then we were just saying places we were thinking we should go, things like that. But besides that, I've just got to take my visits and see for myself."

But right now, the focus is on Don Bosco.

"I'm excited for the challenge," he said. "It's time for me to be more consistent and play at that level all the time."

It was a great move by Jack Allison's mom to get in the ear of Gary's mom. A lot of people are putting stock in the fact Michigan hired Gary's former HS coach, but the interesting thing is that he only coached Gary for 1 year and Gary makes sure to point that out in the video above this post.

bmorecane I was posting the videos and articles for reference on Rashawn Gary. In the end it sounds like Michigan is the choice.

Go Canes

There are so many, "Recruiting experts," in this thread. It's overwhelming.

Michigan and SEC schools been recruiting him hard for years, especially Michigan where his former coach
, and other nj kids are. So Miami is going to come on late and scoop him up, be realistic guys.

That doesnt mean ****.
Great post

He's not wrong, it doesn't mean ****. Go play for a coach you played for in HS for 1 year, or go play for a coach who has consistently sent players to the NFL.

Either way, I think its a stretch to think we're actually going to get him considering the state of our team. 2017/18 will be the years. Nevertheless, still got my fingers crossed.

I was comparing his HS coach to Kool. Should've been more specific I guess, figured people would know I didn't mean Jim when I mentioned the HS coach. Next time I'll spell it out.
