It’s officially the offseason.
The only one of those games I didn’t attend I believe was 91.5 NCs
1983
2001
1987
1991
1989
Man my oldest son was born in 05. I dragged him and his brother born in 09 to every home game during the streak of bad football lol. You're a trooper. He's a jr this year at UF. The irony. I told him to get his **** together and apply for grad school at Miami.Born 06 so haven't seen a lot of good teams but
1. 2025
2. 2024
3. 2017
4. 2016
5. 2020
With a 12 team playoff, we win it in 2000, 1988 and 1990.Favorite isn't necessarily the best so I will show my bias as to when I was AT the U, but I also grew up a Canes fan.
2001
2000
1991
2002
1992 (the sugar bowl crushed me)
When I see all the answers here I realize this team is a couple **** hairs away from having 10 titles (1988, 2000, 2002, 1986, 2025).
Maybe 11. IMO that 1990 team, if there's a CFP that year, they win that. They were firing on all cylinders after their October loss @ ND. That defense had a lot of great young players that made up the incredible 1991 defense, and they were starting to feel it near the end of the season. Craig Erickson had full command of that offense by that time, and was slicing and dicing teams with Thomas, Hill, Copeland and Chudzinski, and the 1-2 punch of power runner/scat back Stephen McGuire and Leonard Conley in the backfield. Great team.Favorite isn't necessarily the best so I will show my bias as to when I was AT the U, but I also grew up a Canes fan.

Yeah 1998 was a cool team. Outside of that weird game in the Carrier Dome that just got away from them so badly, they did pretty well. Scott Covington may be an all time underrated Miami QB. Tough losses against VT and FSU, but also good wins against UCLA, a tough West Virginia team, BC, Pitt and NCST in the bowl.1986 (Most talented to never win one)
2000 (Second most talented to not win)
2001 (8-4 without offense)
1983 (The first one)
1991 (Bermuda Triangle)
Honorable mention to the late 90's probie teams, when I became a fan. You fought your guts out, and I'll remember that forever.
You could make an argument that the 1981 team really started everything. 9-2 record with wins over #1 Penn St, ranked UF and FSU, VT, NCSt and ND.I feel bad for all you young guys who never had a chance to experience UM in the 80’s. We were a spectacle, a circus, the bad guy in every western movie, and the Beetles all rolled into a football team that was amazing for 10 years with 3 different coaches; all of whom left UM to coach professional football. UM fans took a lot of pride that we could keep winning with different coaches, and that UM was basically a launching pad for pro careers for players and coaches.
I feel even worse for those of you who did not experience the 2001 team in real time. There has never been, and will never be a team that good again in college football. And its not close.
All that being written, I think OP nailed the top 5 of all time;
2001
1986
1987
1991
2025
The even older heads will say 1983 MUST be on the list because that literally started everything, and they have a point. But we were not the most talented team, and the list above (which is @B Run list) are arguably the best teams ever at UM.
It was 6 2002 needs to be added5 NCs
1983
2001
1987
1991
1989
65 national championship teams but, this 2025 version was right there-We haven’t done anything for 25 years-This team brought us back to relevancy.
They were so much fun to watch down the stretch-
I have no doubt will be winning it all soon.
