Golden and Manny’s salesmanship is a negative in my opinion. It makes it all the worse when they proved to be buffoons. Plus it causes some cult to develop around them that lasts way too long.

Seriously, I think that even the black posters realized Randy was a terrible coach after the UVA game his first year. (The white posters were done with him after the OU game, and possibly even his first press conference.) That’s why I always found it hard to hate Randy.

Since Diaz is a great salesperson, he has a lot of defenders despite looking even worse than Shannon so far. (And similarily having nobody to blame since they were on the previous staff.) That makes me despise Diaz even more than I otherwise would.

1) Larry Coker - 2001/2002 - Although it was more his captain's teams than his
2) Manny Diaz - For putting us back on the map (we're at the early stages)
3) Mark Richt - For stabilizing our program after the trainwreck of the Golden Doritos era
4) Randy Shannon - Good recruiting class. Good wins; BAD losses
5) Al Golden - It went south against Maryland and never really improved.

My only two issues with Shannon were how many players he stuck in the doghouse, and his lack of emotion which bled over into the team. He got a raw deal from the administration and had a minuscule budget compared to Golden or Richt.
