Had anyone else been hearing this? Well apparently now its looking like a done deal to be announced this next week along with more of the staff. Jim McElwain is putting together a good staff to dominate us in So Fla where T-Rob left off. I wonder if it will have an immediate impact on this class and if Shannon's SoFla ties are still strong

I hope they are strong as when he was HC for Miami

Shannon isn't that great a recruiter, my how we forget. Although realistically, with as ****** as we are going to be next year, you could give any poster from this board a Gator ball cap and polo shirt and call him "recruiting coordinator" and we they'd get their fair share.

That sucks to see Shannon coach at UF but don't be so blinded with rage over Fat Fack Folden and his utter stupidity to forget Randy burned a lot of bridges in south FL and recruited for **** after 08' because of it.

Lol the OC came from Michigan where their offense was a disaster. This season will be the third in a row they get put all over espn for their OL blocking eachother. Defensively, their staff will be solid but I'm not sold on anything on offense, and tbh I don't think McElwain is going to live up to the "I can win with my dog at QB" comment either. Not that great of an offensive guy himself. Totally my opinion though

Agree 100% it is easy to talk **** and boast about titles he won as OC at Bama when Saban is force feeding you 4*/5* studs. Now go get em and mold em your **** self.

His claim to fame is AJ Mccaron and getting him to Alabama, but im pretty sure he was basically local anyway and all they had to do was offer to get him there. Look at what Kiffin has done with a **** rb converted wr converted qb that is 6'0 ft tall.

I've seen people saying look at what he did with Mark Ingram and Trent Richardson as well, and using that to try to persuade Scarlett to play with him. Yet look at what they are doing in the NFL, and same with AJ, he is a 3rd string qb behind Andy Dalton. It's all about the players around all these guys at Alabama. Lamar Miller wasn't very nfl highly touted out of college like Ingram and Richardson but he's sure as **** out playing them in the nfl, simply because of the caliber of guys around him at the time.

I'm sure you can find others and compare them, but he's not impressed me at all. Florida could have got whoever they wanted and they got this guy and paid that huge buyout? I would have rather had Gundy or Hudspeth or even Fuente from Memphis.

That goes back to Dmoneys thread about his convo with the bama coach

Randy could get his fair share that he can focus on. Now him at the head psot is difficult., but he can shake dade county leaves and work parents...**** be able to snag some for gainesville. We are a dumpster fire so its basically free reign any **** way.....at this point im not even mad at golden...are people in position could care less, theyve got what they wanted...a chance to sit comfy and watch bball games and act like were legit in that as well, and dont have to worry about "rowdy crowds" or "locals".

Nuss is held in good regard. He had complete **** to work with at the qb position at Michigan. That was part of their undoing - awful QBs. He did fine at bama.
