-Hodges at FB doesn’t work. He rarely contributed a block.

-Everyone says how Mallory is a WR, but we use him in-line a LOT. And he can’t block.

-the OL played pretty well, esp Clark for his first game.

-Jarren is dead accurate.

-JT4 dropped another TD. Make a play for me 1 time.

-Patchan shouldn’t play starter snaps. The way Garvin looks, he should be moved to SDE and Gregory R to WDE.

-Sam Howell is a stud

-1st play of 4th q. Great field position. Zion, wtf are you doing?! Led to a punt. Wasted possession.

-Murphy is a great gunner

-our LBs are always lined up strangely. Weird spacing and shaded to one side of the field. When the play goes to the other side of the field, our guys are too slow sideline to sideline to recover.

-we bunch our WRs in tight too often, esp when we run out of those sets. It allows the defense to stack the box. I’d like to see Enos mix in more wide sets.

-Brevin is a solid blocker.

-our DTs contribute nothing

-neither does Gurvan Hall. And to continue on last week’s conversation, yes he does lack range. And he plays timid.

The good thing is I am numb to losses anymore. Doesn’t affect my mood like it used to. I’m just happy to be able to watch football on the weekend.

One more thing. Not sure if it's my imagination, but does it seem that we line up DJ way to far from scrimmage.

Then there was this random notion of the Orange and Green degree. Absolutely NOBODY. I mean nobody, nobody has mentioned the DESPERATE PANICKY decision by Diaz early in the third-quarter. Which arguably was more COSTLY for Miami than the other game blunders!

For example, Diaz decides to go for it on fourth-down instead of going for a chip-shot FG. hUh. And even a dim with like my self knows U ALWAYS take points on the road. Always! Especially in a tightly contested sold out road game. That MAJOR blunder changed the entire complexion of the game in crunch time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The bottom line is that CRUCIAL game decision by your CHICO came back to haunt Miami and what not.

Solid post... I would say our run D is fine but yeah our secondary is awful and is it because of scheme or just not that good

The secondary is just not that good. Then toss in the LACK of depth in the secondary. And Cane fan will witness WHY mighty Carolina Blue's THREE-STAR true freshmen completed 4th and 17 HANDILY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Also, losing #5 hurt the Canes in a severe way! Think Knowles. LOL

This was the first game where I thought a lack of speed at CB cost us. The UNC aligned their WR's made it really difficult to jam them at the LOS.
There's no part of me that thinks UNCs WR are actually faster than our DBs. I think our guys just didn't do their jobs.

I got blasted on here when I said our DT’s were gonna be a problem.

For some reason having an AA last year that’s no longer on the team meant we were just fine.
Hopefully nesta comes back healthy and is as good as advertised, or the whole DL is gonna struggle this year

I agree

My thoughts,
We got cute on defense when we did not need to and we need to be a bit more disciplined in terms of running defensive plays, can't always freelance and try to beat the snap. Also, those "exotic blitzes" are cool but not on a ******* 4 and 1 mile..........just line up in a base formation, and scheme and let the d line t off. Dont get all fancy and give up a 4th and a mile. This is when It was over for us. Also, we look like we are tackling wet penguins, ****! get a ******* jui jitsu expert to come and help us learn how to grap and take someone down.

The kicking continues to be an issue. In both losses, the kicker play could have been the difference. Really concerning, punting is better but there are some concerns on blocking schemes sometimes. Just my opinion

I concur with many of the sentiments of JW, he is young and shows impressive poise and potential. if he continues to push himself and is developed properly, talent is def there. One thing I hope to see ASAP is that he needs to learn to tuck that **** and ride.....he could have scored the 2 point conversion and also a key 1st down if he keeps that **** and takes the game over. Also, get you knees up young man!!!!, every inch counts. Trust that he will develop this. Other concern is him underthrowing of Thomas/receivers on deep routes, throw that **** out there and let Thomas/receiver turn the burners on.

Also, offensive play calling is concerning at times, the slow developing plays are cool after you establish the run......not the other way around. run the ******* ball!!! Like the quick hitters but JT seems timid in making a ******* decision and just hitting the ******* hole or turning the afterburners on to hit corner, don't pegeon toe and settle. Get Pope in the game and get him the ball!!! He seems much more twitchy and may be real appropriate for those motion run plays

We need a strong healthy dosage of creative plays for both cam and DJ, both of them are playmakers.

We have unbelievable potential, just young. Unfortunately that is the running narrative @ Miami since 2004/2005. The real barometer here is going to be how we finish, how we develop, and what sort of consistency can be established by coaches, players, university etc. Not only this season but momentum into next t. Would love us to have started differently but reality now is how we finish. If we don't finish with momentum, we will be having the same narrative discussion again. At the end of the day winning is the ultimate metric by which we are judged. Right now we have an F in that department.

Not sure how much you have watched our special teams but there is no such thing as a chip shot fg for Miami right now.

I hear you, but............

Did you miss the rest of the game? Nothing is a given with BB. Extra point, nope, not a given. Short field goal (basically a glorified extra point), nope, not a given.

I understand why we went for it and I don't even see BB practice. Maybe that was why we went for it. Momentum wise, I get why we do as well.

****, we even had the right call. That UNC cat made one **** of a play and that's football. People make plays all the time, we were just on the losing end there.

For the life of me I can not understand the LB spacing?

It’s horrible.

Our LB play hasn’t been good since Barrow was here. It’s why I wanted him back.

Get rid of Patke. Never liked him.

Bring Barrow back. Baker can be ST/Co Dc with Manny.

Also didn’t like the Stroud hire. Go get Kevin Patrick.

Stroud is an FSU guy! So let that sink in your ego. Yes, so is Diaz and all that. But he gets a pass because he's a native Miamian. Huh

Was the 27 yarder the same angle as the uf one he missed? I thought he would’ve adjusted and taken the delay based on that weird angle from UF game. Regardless he should hit anything in the 20’s. And thought I remembered someone saying Howell was terrible in their scrimmages? Guy is the goods
