Jake Garcia is the more accurate passer & sparked the offense. He was put in too late (after we already had a major deficit). Jake should be the starter going forward.

Turnovers & poor offensive play put us in a huge hole. We have to have a more explosive offense and score points or we could lose every game remaining on the schedule. YOU HAVE TO SCORE POINTS IN TODAY'S CFB.

We should never ever lose to a G5 team but that was one well-coached team that played hard and as a cohesive unit. Our players could learn a lot from them. They played TOUGH, HARD-NOSED FOOTBALL WITH MAXIMUM EFFORT. That's the way we should be playing.

Yes, the D gave up far too many chunk plays and our lack of back end speed was exposed but this loss was a total team effort. This game was on shaky ground after the first few turnovers and giving them short fields/easy scoring situations repeatedly in the early stages.

Major props to Ladson for stepping up. He can be a really good weapon for us.

WE NEED MORE OF: JAKE, ARROYO, SKINNER, LADSON, KEY SMITH.

Props to Redding & Smith (especially Smith) for fighting hard, making plays and refusing to lose. NOTICE HOW OUR WR ARE NO LONGER RUNNING BAD ROUTES AND DROPPING BALLS? It is because Jake is a more accurate passer that throws a more catchable ball. I'm a big fan of TVD but he's just been off completely so far (not even close). With Jake, the offense was totally fine (except for one series at the end). The offense looked far more fluid under Jake & he runs better.

We have to score points THIS YEAR or we're going to have a sub-500 year.

We cannot rid the stench of prior year's underperformance in one season (missed tackles, bad angles, players that are not heady players, players that don't play with max effort, players that lack speed etc).

WE HAVE TO SCORE MORE AND WE HAVE TO BE MORE AGGRESSIVE TO WIN. WE'VE GOT TO THROW THE BALL EFFECTIVELY AS THIS GAME PROVED WE CANNOT RELY ON POUNDING ANYONE. WE WERE "OUTPHYSICALLED" AND OUTWILLED IN THIS GAME.

remember when kids came to Miami with a chip on their shoulders. They embraced being hated. Well now it’s an honor for kids to come to UM. Kids do not have no heart. They just happy to be at UM. Kids are soft emotionally.

Masking sure I got this right because it’s definitely an edgy analysis you have -but am I straight - that in order to win we have to score more than the other team

What that means is that Mario can't rely on trying to pound the rock & play conservatively on offense because:

(i) we just don't have the players to do that (on OL...AND our RB room is now depleted);
(ii) we're going to get boatraced by a bunch of teams if we don't score more points; and
(iii) we have to show a more exciting offense to recruits or we're not going to attract the QBs and WRs we need to get us back to where we want to be (it could become a vicious cycle).

Mario's philosophy on offense needs to evolve....FAST...or his coaching career will "die on the hill". Especially now with the injuries to Parrish and Rooster, we need to do this stat to pull out of this:

1) All key coaches (including former HC like Charlie Strong) should get in a room and totally re-make the offense...based on the best weapons we have available to us now. We have time now with a Bye week to do this.

2) Jake should be the starter. He's more accurate, the offense flows better when he's in there, other players seemed to respond well to him leading, he throws a more catchable ball, and he's more mobile. Our recruiting class could take a major hit if we don't fix this offense fast. The entire coaching brain trust should hold meetings for the next few days until they devise an entirely new offense that is far more simple, dynamic & effective.

3) A bunch of the best passing plays & formations from last year's offense should now be worked into this offense & repped repeatedly in practice until we have them down pat. Those concepts should be blended with the run design (and certain formations) from this year's offense. We should have a hybrid offense that has elements of both schemes. If we stick entirely with Gattis's system from this year...it's going to be a long year and we'll lose a bunch of recruits.

4) Play your best players on offense only. Be ruthless about it. If they don't catch consistently, block well, or play with max effort then they ride the pine. Only the most reliable players play. We have to better at assessing our assets and asset utilization (with only the best players playing). We have to have ab aggressive mindset & cutthroat approach to winning every single game the rest of the season. Here's what should happen on offense:

a) More Arroyo. He make's plays every single time he's targeted. He's a smooth pass catcher, huge target and gets YACs. The targets should be 50/50 between Mallory & Arroyo (not 90/10 Mallory/Arroyo). The coaches have got to see the light fast on this.

b) More Skinner. He should be a huge weapon (together with Arroyo) in the Red Zone. How do the coaches not understand that a 6'5" guy can probably catch a ball (even with tight coverage) due to his height advantage, huge catch radius and athleticism? Both Arroyo & Skinner should be used heavily in the Red Zone. With Jake at QB, he can also be a weapon with his feet in the Red Zone (TVD had zero chance with his speed).

c) WRs that should get the bulk of the targets: Ladson (he looked smooth out there today). Use him more please. Key Smith: he fought hard today and had some explosive plays. He needs more targets. Skinner (as a WR) -- straight baller & a huge target. Those should be the three primary targets. The rest of the targets should be spread to: Redding, Brinson, Brashard & Horton (but only 20-30% of the targets in aggregate). Every down has to count. Drops cannot be tolerated. We need dogs that will fight for contested catches and "protect their QB". Rely heavily on the most dependable players.

d) Jacurri Brown should be used as a RB. Wildcat plays are too obvious & he needs to work on his passing skills but I think he could be a heck of a weapon as a RB. He doesn't need to learn the whole playbook. Teach him 3 plays & have him rep those repeatedly. We need other talented runners now at RB.

Many coaches in America would give their right arm to have the QB, RB and TE rooms we started the season with. We are NOT devoid of talent on offense. We're simply not using the best assets we have enough...and they haven't been in the right scheme. MARIO NEEDS A TOTAL RE-THINK NOW OF HIS OFFENSIVE APPROACH ESPECIALLY IN LIGHT OF INJURIES AT RB & THE WOEFULLY INADEQUATE PLAY WE HAD AT QB TO START THE SEASON.

GOT TO ADAPT FAST TO WHAT YOU HAVE OR YOU'LL "DIE ON THE HILL."
