Random Observations on the Duke Game

if the staff is so bad, how come Colbie, Parrish, Mesidor, D Jackson, Kelly, and others are responding to the coaching?
If Manny was so bad how come 15 15 Rambo Harley respond to coaching? see how that works lol

Ferman stated in an article from yesterday that after Young and Mallory scored their TD's in the second half that neither player touched the ball the rest of the game. How in the flippin heck do you accomplish that perfecta?! Only us.

He also laid out how Gattis' predictable offense coupled by him going away from what is working is a huge anchor on our program. The growing stigma of dialing up random plays rather than building on successful ones. Who can disagree w/ that?

On the defensive side, I'm still baffled by how we came into a game knowing the Duke QB can take off, especially near the goal line, and yet we never seemed to account for him?! Kid can move but he's no Michael Vick. Geez.
Reviewing the play-by-play, Mallory did catch a pass after his TD. Young did not. Unfortunately the ESPN play sheet does not name the target on incomplete passes. I’ll presume Young and Mallory were both targeted but could not connect with Jake. Duke likely adjusted to Colbie and we had no answer.

Leonard is a tough kid, but just a “good” college QB.
Of his 13 completions, I’m guessing 10 of those had to be short/mid throws in between the hashes.

Here’s why my head still hurts from banging it against the wall…
Duke was doing NOTHING offensively in the first half.
We all knew Leonard was THEE offensive threat when they’re down close, so,
HOW DO WE LET THAT GUY SCORE ON THOSE 2 RUSHING TD’S?
Low football IQs. Bad angles, running oneself out of plays, missed tackles.

If Steele even bothered to watch the Duke-UNC game the week before.... every thing they did on offense was there to see.... predictable to the T.

Only our dumbass coaches look like they have never watched any film on their opponents, week after week

Mario and Gattis have been getting slammed and pummeled. This is nothing near the talent either had at Oregon or Michigan. Especially at Michigan where them boys know smash mouth football. You might criticize the way they won but they won and are still winning with a new OC. Sure Oregon seems happy right now but they were very disappointed when Mario left. Mario left toughness behind for Lanning and the cupboard was far from bare. Mario is being paid well to turn things around. He will do it his way not the way some prima donna player or his mommie wants. I trust he can turn things around. Why not you? Cause we look weak and embarrassing to the U after 7 games in to a new regime. Coaches have like a fraternal group within themselves. They know who can and who can’t. They know who’s going where and what new recruits are doing. They communicate with one another during and after the season. Crucifying these coaches after 7 games with F troop isn’t right. What are your latest levels of accomplishments?
I know this will be highly criticized but I had to have my say. I graduated the U way before most of you were born. I’m old school but I respect and enjoy the exchanging of ideas with the younger “sane” posters.

Miami Football is incredibly special. We all want to see it back. I trust Mario will get it done but he's going to have to crush it on the recruiting trail. I hope very much that Mario will succeed. The players & the coaches are all responsible for the underwhelming product we've seen so far. They absolutely could have done better. Everything needs to be assessed at this point (even parts of recruiting such as WR, RB, DT & DBs). Recruiting has improved significantly so far & DL play has been more solid overall. Everything else could use some serious work. Only recruiting (at least at positions like OL, QB & LB) has met the lofty expectations I had for Mario coming in. That is ultimately the most important thing in CFB but things can be done better in the interim.

My thoughts are that we are Light Years behind the top 20 football teams in America. Watching college football every week and realizing how truly bad we are at all levels is just hysterical at this point.

We had many opportunities to hire good coaches and fix Miami, but the program is dead, irrelevant and openly laughed at.
It’s because we have a tard in the administration. How you not interview HC candidates is beyond me.

I noticed that about Young and Mallory too. I also noticed Garcia immediately looked to throw to Jacolby George and Brinson. Both guys in his circle. Not sure how much of that had to do with guys being open or just familiarity…

Just saw George posting pics of himself making a catch with the caption-in very small type- “caught everything that came my way with a broken thumb”.

Have a bad feeling 0/15 based on everyone I’ve read/heard.

Been waiting on a thread that cross references the guys who the media has asked Cristobal about quitters in the 4th quarter and those dudes social media posts.

Do we have a compendium of 4th quarter quitters going right now. Kind of want to see who people thought quit so I can go back and watch the 4th to see if I can spot the lack of effort.
