I don’t know the names but it is accurate that most schools have a high profile person overseeing their marquee sport who is not the AD.
Kentucky and Indiana both have people specifically over basketball. Associate AD for basketball.

Yes, it's a blessing but not a need. The whole Zo to the U started because of our administration (Blake James and Mandy). They are no longer here and we have two competent men replacing them. He's a blessing but not a need anymore. Mario can identify talent and get it. Not on Butch David level, but he's up there.

But Highsmith CAN do it at a Butch Davis level, IMO.
