Kanye likes hitler, kim jong il likes barbies. There's that. Guess it just shows as men we don't always make the best choices with what we like.

Michael Yormark was terrible as CEO and president of the Panthers for nearly a decade. The list of missteps is very long for those of us who followed the Cats back then.

Hopefully he's learned something at Roc Nation...
Was he terrible or was the team terrible?

He was terrible. The team also sucked but the business side compounded it. They screwed over long time season ticket holders and fans by raising prices massively, moving people's seats without consulting them, his marketing gimmicks from that era still get the franchise mocked to this day. All in all they ruined the fan experience under his leadership.

In Hockey, a lot of it is about drafting the right prospect at the Junior level, which is obviously hard. This guy plays a minimal role in that I would assume most of this board doesn’t know about about hockey, and how difficult it is to build a team for playoffs. The Panthers had a bad stretch were a lot of their prospects didn’t pan out

From a macro level discussion, its going to be interesting to see how changes to the AD role play out at a lot of US universities. The current/outgoing model is to make a DEI hire who spends all of their time genuflecting to Title IX.

The new, forward-looking model is to hire someone who can truly manage the financial and business aspects of a university's athletic department. Having Joe Echevarria at the helm truly gives UM a leg up here.

Do you have any examples of that?
