Quit living in the past...

Living in the past or not was still out recruit almost all of these ACC teams we lose to. If we had solid to good coaching and we’re losing to teams because of talent I’d say it’s over. But it’s still a ******* coaching issue. Give us the last two or three UCF coaches the last 15 years and we’d be completely relevant

joined in August........you might want to consider bowling???..The image is....... of a struggling Cane program, trying to win games.
What do we need to get over, more than striving to become a better team?.

Affiliation date proves my canes DNA?

We are what we are. A little better than middling P5 program right now. Quit the f'n crying already and expecting a playoff berth every year. The entitled doomsday crybaby routine is over done. Donate a couple 10 million to buy us an 'elite' coaching staff or STFU and move on. Quit making this place unbearable to the rest of us who want to talk football rather than ***** and moan.
I will live where ever I want to. We lost our first two games by 3 points each and should have won both. This team could easily be 2-0. I dont have a vadge so I will make up my mind when the season is over not at weak 2. Flaming *****

Our fans are starting to sound like Notre Dame fans in the early and mid-2000s. Low on bowl wins, low on wins, a few marquee competitive games, a carousel of coaches, and a bunch of fans talking about wins that happened before most of our players were born. And actually other than a couple of years in the beginning of the 2000s we haven't been very good since the early 90s.
Translation: I think we'll be ranked 7th before long.

I like your optimism!!!

Cuz hope is the first step towards disappointment.

Amirite?
I'm actually hopeful every week! This thread isn't about that. I'm on the boat that hopes Manny brings us back to relevance. I don't stay mired in the doldrums of those who want to quit football after every loss because they think "we're better that this; its all or nothing".

The emotional esteogen swing between every win/loss fills this board with defeatist diatribes from those who feel entitled to national titles because Miami was great in the past.

Full agreement.

Why would you expect anything since we started playing annually?

8 wins a side during that time. Tied up, goes either way typically.

Bottom line, we aren't better than UNC anymore. Both sides have new coaches, one with a lot more experience.

At Chapel Hill, series is split as well.

Yes, most live in the past saying we should expect to win. I do expect to win down the road, but many holes need to be filled and there's going to be growing pains. Yes, they have a lot of the same issues going on that we do, but they were at home, and even though we statistically dominated, they were coming off a hard fought win. We just made two too many mistakes. Could've gone either way.

expecting to beat UNC isn't living in the past, but thinking we are better than UNC just because we are Miami is the problem. I read multiple posts saying Miami wins by 2 tds, we win by 20 easy. UNC is trash blah blah blah...... Fact is we are no better or different than UNC, and some fans can't accept this. Just accept it and hope we get better......

That sounds like a good idea.

Problem is, the bit**ing and moaning seems to ease the misery just a tad. I'll try to do better - I'll try to grin while I bit*h and moan - a compromise of sorts!

I frequently use enemas for balanced bowel health as most Canes do according to gameday surveys. Recently I began to tape the pictures of former players to the Fleet bottle before receiving the love water. I guess it is living in the past. But it soothes me to look in the mirror and see my 45 year old war-horse of a body staring back at me on its hands and knees with a clear bottle of saline jammed in my *** with a picture of Rusty Medearis on it. Next week's party will be Cleveland Gary or Jeff Feagles, I'm calling it my '87 salute, and i am mixing a special tonic - a smidgen of Bay leaf left to marinate in the elixir for a few hours leaves me feeling like a dandy carnival turkey all day long.

Have you ever considered a smidgen of spiracha to enhance the aroma?
