Mallory caught every ball thrown his way, and was wide open most the the time.
Zion was just as good as anyone else in the offensive line drills
Campbell looked good.
Hodges is the real deal, possibly will see playing time this year.
Polenday made the catch of the day in traffic
Did not see Hedley.
Bubba hit both field goals, 35 and 45. The 45 cleared by only a few feet but was dead center.
Kick offs: 2 at the goal line, 2 at the five, 1 at the eight, and one deep in the end zone
QBs: Williams throws the best ball. 11 on 11: Steps up in the pocket when the line breaks down. Made two great runs up the middle when the oline failed. Good touch
Had ups and downs when 7 on 7
Perry has a rocket. resulted in two drops on very short passes, stayed in the pocket.
Tate: Made the only touchdown pass, but ran sideline to sideline when pocket broke down, and only complete one very short throw in that situation.
Had one nice throw in the 7 on 7.
Williams really hit the side line and flat passes, overall was the best today.

Thank you! Def need to see improvements in our kick off coverage. This shouldn't go underreported.
Teams generally have two strategies on KO.

1. Touchback- kick it as far as possible. Let the opponent have it on the 25.

2. Near Goal Line on the Numbers- The goal here is to place the ball at a spot that forces the kicker to make a decision to take it out or not. Teams that can successfully cover the kick can usually make the tackle inside the 20 yard line. This starts the offense at least 5 yards better than the touchback method. More risk and reward.

Without knowing what the goal of the kickoff was you can't make a conclusion on the performance.

I actually am most excited about Jarren as our QB. I always had him pegged as our QB1 because of those same observations you mentioned. At days end, it’s all about the capacity to efficiently play the position, not the the strongest arm or quickest feet.

The problem with Jarren is that when the bullets start flying he looks like a completely different QB. When you know you aren't going to get hit, he plays one way. In scrimmages, I see a different QB. I think we all agree that pound for pound, Jarren probably has the most overall talent. (Size, arm strength, nice throws, can move a little, etc)

Deejay fumbled during 11 on 11 pat bethel stripped him. He has gotta get that problem under control
Isn't it convenient how everyone on here that keeps hyping up what an amazing year he's going to have before he's off to the NFL just can't seem to remember that he got benched last season because he couldn't hold onto the ball? Like it never happened or is just magically going to go away

Makes sense for coaches to tell Bubba to kick it short to see what the return and coverage groups can do. To kick 20 of 20 into the end zone does not help discovery of those units?

Everybody has different views on whom is the best QB.

That tells me they are close....

This isn’t necessarily a good thing....

(Not saying this is what you were implying, just saying. The odds we have 3 really good QBs are slim to none. If they’re all even, they’re probably all mediocre. Long way to go, though)

The fact that Zion as a 2 star true freshman is hanging in there against some of the best DL in America is fantastic!!

If Enos can use our TEs to help on the edge, our OL might be the best we've had in more than a decade
Geez guys - 3 star on all but rivals - I agree he is a lower tier recruit, but come on.

Our o line play when we go live will dictate who starts. Gonna need a mobile dude if they’re getting beat. Plain and simple. If they can protect the qb then it’s jdub or perry. If it’s Swiss cheese then it’s Tate. If it’s somewhere in between it’s still Tate.
