questions for Richt??

his salary. also how many games he thinks we win. (Well coaches aways refuse to answer that question.)

What is the biggest difference he has noticed besides weather between coaching at Miami and coaching at Georgia?

Skhim to rank Hurricane coaches. Then ask him what Miami would look like if Davis were hired instead. Maybe follow up with a inquiry about if he thinks Diaz is a better DC than D'onfrio. Then...does he follow Al on Twitter?

I have a great feeling about the program after meeting Richt.... I will try to cover as much as I can remember. Some of the topics have been discussed on here already, so don't kill me for mentioning again...

Diet is now a very important part of the conditioning process. The team now has its own nutritionist, which was never the case before. The idea is to instill the best practices of the top programs.

Richt talked a lot about needing an indoor practice facility. The facility will also have offices and meeting rooms. We are the only program in the ACC and SEC that does not have an indoor facility or a plan to build one. It sounds like Richt feels this is our biggest competitive disadvantage. The disadvantages is 2 fold. First, the team missed 22 practices last year. Second, recruits expect to see an indoor facility. He also mentioned it was a down pour during our Pro Day this year and that was heart breaking to him as it is some kids only shot to display their skills. Finally, it is good to get a break from the heat and go indoors for a few days during hot periods and this actually helps with conditioning and preventing injuries.

He completely squashed a question someone had that painted the stadium situation as a disadvantage. My read on this is we are not getting a different stadium any time soon. Richt is ready to roll with Sun Life. He pointed out the positives. Close to $500 mill renovation, its an NFL stadium and if we win the place will be liked by fans. A lot of emphasis on "getting after it" and winning.

The dorms are bad. They try to avoid going to the dorms unless a recruit asks to go see them. He called them embarrassing and it was noted the Admin is aware of this. I would not be surprised if after an indoor facility the next order of biz is new dorms.

I asked about the overall talent level. He spoke mostly in generalities. "This team has talent" (as everyone here knows). But it lacks depth in some areas. He seems to be very excited about the TE position. I think we will use the TEs a lot based on his tone about TE. Also, he did not pan the O line, but did talk about "we are going to get the ball out quickly". He would not compare / contrast Brad to other QBs he has coached, but did say he was a very talented guy that can make the throws. He also talked about how when Duke got hurt a few years ago and the team folded it is not acceptable to have to rely on 1 player the way that team did. My take is we will see much better roster management.

Someone asked about missing local guys and specifically called out Dalvin Cook. He said, look, you will always miss local kids bc there are 100 players a year from the tri county area and you can only take 20. You also don't want to miss out on a Shockey, so need to keep some space for other states. I get his point but I would expect he is better about not missing on a few difference makers. I think Richt understands that.

The conclusion. "The key is getting players in and developing them."

Thanks for the recap.

I had no idea the dorms were that bad. Hopefully that is taken care of SOON.

We really lagged behind on the facilities the past 15-20 years. Its kind of embarrassing. I think our admin is to blame. The culture of the program starts at the very top and I think they got very comfortable with just being Miami.
