What is elite to my CIS's family.
Is our running back Elite, IYO.

OR on the verge of being elite....

I do believe Dallas is the best all around back at DA U in years .
But do we truly have a RB1 or RB2 that can pick up a 4th &1 or house it at any moment.
In my opinion, a elite back has Elite vision or power to move a pile.

Elite is established in the trenches than the QB. That’s what make a team Elite. You have to have an OLine and a DLine that consistently cause havoc. The skilled players, in my opinion, are great pieces, but they aren’t what makes a team Elite.

Spot on , it all starts in the PITS you go as far as your OL can take you.

I believe, it’s an unknown for us. A lot of kids are ELITE in HS. At The next level it remains to be seen. Herschel wasn’t elite until he was. Until he trampled Bill Bates on his way to the end zone. Sayers wasn’t until he dead legged his way thru defenses for 5 and 6 tds a game. We will wait and see when the cream rises to the top, until then just kids playing hard carrying the ball.

you want "elite" ? here ya go.

A lot of kids are NOT elite in high school, they’re overrated.

Elite, to me, is … Special. Consensus day 1 starters the day they show up who dominate.

Take this 17 year old 6’3”/210 lbs kid from New Zealand who ran 10.22 (-0.2) a few days ago.

Not sure I follow.

Doesn't play football. So he’s not elite at football. Probably sucks at football is my guess.

Not a top 25 sprinter, as far as the 100m, in the world.

So how is he elite? He’s elite in Australia and New Zealand I guess.

If you’re saying in terms of size and speed as a combo yeah that’s elite. But he’s got to use it. And if he’s not playing football, or unless he lowers his hundred meter time significantly, I’m not seeing elite.

Find me a guy that size that actually plays football and runs a 10.7 and I’ll be thrilled (with a 4.3 40)

He does play football … Rugby, too. In fact, he’ll probably be a professional for the All Blacks. So there’s that.

He’s top-10 and factoring for wind he would be number 1 - and faster than Schwartz ran at any time last year. T&F ranks by age …

The question was what is elite and I gave an EXAMPLE of what is elite, to me, which again was OPs question. That example could have just as easily used Basketball players like Lebron, Kobe, Zion, etc.

The all blacks are great, but it doesn’t mean though he could be a running back in college. Would love to see him try though.

I had no idea he played rugby. So that’s a plus for him. Usually the top hundred meter runners are fragile... very few actually play football, like ever. The only world-class one that I can think of is that **** Demps

Cam looks elite. JT4 is proven elite. We are on the verge of elite with a couple DL. Other than that we have alot of unproven talent.

To call someone elite they have to be no worse than 2nd round ability.

Are you saying that Cam is 2nd rounder based upon what you’ve seen so far? I can’t, and I believe Cam is incredible.

Cam can be a first rounder. All the talent plus the instincts. Already gone on record saying by the end of the year he will have the most carries in my opinion. Just won't be able to keep him off the field. Dude is a dog and an old school type cane rb.

Cool

1.Duke
2.Lamar
3.Dallas

I'd say Miller & Duke are the only "elite" RB's we've had since Gore. I'd rank Homer third, but wouldn't say he's "elite".

By "elite", you need to have a size, speed, and talent combo that translates into playing a large role on a NFL team (not just making an NFL team).

On the roster now - I think Dallas is a very good player, but Lingard is the one most likely to become "elite".

Deejay Dallas might not even be better than Cam Harris come this season & we still really haven't seen Lingard in his true form fully healthy in this new offense.

I like Dallas a lot, he's a great player & great representative for the U, but he's not the best RB in the last decade plus. He's good, but I wouldn't put him ahead of Duke, Lamar or Homer & you could argue Yearby, Walton & Damien Berry too who were productive College backs.

I think Deejay is a great utility player being able to play multiple positions at a high level, the trio of Dallas, Cam & Lo give us 3 very good backs & put us up at the top with Clemson for the best backfield in the ACC.

IMO all 3 will do very well & excel in this new Offense & give us a formidable RB attack, but in terms of pure ability Cam & Lo have higher upside as RB's than Deejay. Deejay's edge is his versatility & quick burst as a runner.

Invite this kid to Paradise Camp or whatever the fvck we're calling it now. Imagine the possibilities if he could catch a football under duress or return kickoffs. 🤔
His start wasn't all that great, so wow, that time is fantastic for a big 17 yo
