Obviously, and I don't think is even debatable...All REPORTED offers are created equal. Now with regards to locals, and examples in this year's class include...D. Stanley, R. Hanna, J. Pough, H. Parrish, etc...
Do you think UM does kids favors, and again especially locals, by telling them...We are watching you, we are recruiting you..."Go ahead and you can use our name as an offer if you so feel like it?" Helps the kid get exposure for instance. Now obviously UM and staff don't give a **** what Ivins, Ferman, etc...report as to who is being offered, they know who they are really recruiting, and they let their contact frequency and aggressiveness speak with the kid. And obviously it works the other way as any kid can claim any offer they want (the Porter kid from AH for example saying UM offered)
But imo it's a fine line with local kids, and I know Diaz (and previous coaches) doesn't want to intentionally mislead a recruit or cause bad blood at potential pipeline schools. But do you think UM has made an agreement to help locals while still evaluating and get their name out their a little?
Just looking for opinions, obv.
