Question on McCloud

Both were awful calls. I hate those sideline calls with the way these QB's dance along the sideline and then cut back in. That shouldn't have been a penalty. If the QB doesn't want to get hit, then slide or go out of bounds sooner. These penalties are out of hand.

Then they need to call one where Rosier is flung to the ground when we're at their 33 late in the 3rd up 17-13. We proceeded to get sacked twice in a row and not get it on 4th down. The announcers, of course, were begging (literally begging) the refs not to throw the flag. We would have a first down at their 18.

The penalties are essentially called based off the way the QB reacts. If you have a big strong QB like Rosier who doesn't go flying 10 yards after a hit, then it won't be called.

McCloud will turn out to be the best of the three.

The light will click at some point.
People continue to say this but it's clear Pinckney is hands down our best LB.

That's not clear yet, he makes mistakes like Shaq does. I'd say those two are about even. I was a big fan of McCloud's HS film but it's just not translating. Kid is struggling to make the right reads.

If the refs are going to call that first play a late hit out of bounds, how about calling it when Malik was slung to the ground out of bounds by his shoulder pads?

The second call was just terrible.

That Qb of theirs was trying to milk calls by getting up slowly after plays, he even got up laughing about it after one play on the sidelines.

I watched the game this morning, This ESPN crew they had were the biggest pieces of **** going. they should have been covered in Carolina gear from head to toe.

The first one (above): I think he hits him as his foot goes out of bounds. McCloud definitely left his feet before the QB touched the ground (out of bounds).

The second one: I thought was clean.

Here's the thing though, we can disagree with it, but the first one is called pretty consistently throughout football. Teams may **** and moan about it, but more often than not it's called. The second one like I said, a ref should be reprimanded or either suspended. That was bull.

I agree. What bothers me more is on Miami's previous possession Malik was spun around and slammed as he was going out bounds and there was no penalty... and the horsesh*t announcers were saying it was a good no call. All you really want is consistency.

I echo generic. On the sideline play I was ****ed because you have to have better judgment because the refs nearly always call that ****. Someone should be reprimanded/suspended for the bogus roughing the passer call.

Always? Like when a UNC players grabs Rosier and throws him the ground out of bounds?

Yeah that hit was more of Malik "losing his balance". I'd lose my balance too if some guy has me by the neck and is throwing me out of bounds.

They'll repeat that until McCloud graduates as a backup because they heard Lu and D$ say it a couple years ago.
I'm to the point to where I'm about to start tracking how many big gash plays McCloud gives up pergame.

The amount of times he goes to the wrong gap, over runs the play, and misses tackles is so frustrating.

I just want him to show some gap integrity and learn how to set the edge when the outside run comes his way!!!!! We really need to start reducing his snap count.

The guy who's flashed improvement from last year is Darrion Owens. I think he's earned more PT

The sideline one is likely going against us forever.
The second one is absurd.

I think all three of our LBs will play well on Sundays... they all bring a different plates to the table... They all will have both their good and bad days.. All of their stengths out weigh their faults... I know one thing all three need to step the **** up this weekend and earn their keep

Shaq is doing a great job...

Usually a "sophomore slump" can stall out a player the entire season. Seems like he was able to push through that initial slow start that all of the lbs were going through and is putting in work. Really impressed with how quick hes reacting and how fast he's looking from the MLB position.
