So, it seems as though I may finally have to subscribe to a journalistic site, for the best Canes coverage how is the Athletic as opposed to lets say the Herald or any of the other South Florida outlets? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Canes coverage on the athletic is meh, I think Manny writes the majority of the articles tbh.

Now if you’re a hockey fan then it’s definitely worth it, they’ve scooped up the majority of the quality hockey writers IMO

Honestly they all suck, Manny Navarro has never been an insider or break any type of information. When the Athletic Hired him I was so disappointed because of all the other great writers they had been acquiring. Not sure who I would have selected but probably someone younger with more passion and news breaking ability. I was felt Pete was the best I’ve seen (not writing ability but news breaking ability) but obviously went downhill a bit during career change.

Subscribe to the Athletic if you're interested in coverage of all sports. Don't subscribe for a specific team, but if you subscribe do it for all of their sports coverage.
