Raul Diaz is the C at Central. He just committed to Curtis Johnson and Tulane. He didn't have a Miami offer, but he had offers from Louisville, Kentucky, NC State, FIU and some others. He's a little on the small side, 6-1, 277, but since I'm a Tulane alum, I love it when they get South Florida kids. Since he's from the area, I was wondering if anyone knew anything about him?

He was very impressive at the local camp scene. Matched up well against Khairi Clark and Chad Thomas. Good player that plays with a lot of tenacity

Are you going by his rivals profile on those "offers"?

I was going by a quote from Roland Smith to a Tulane website

Tulane will start doing some things...with getting these type of s.fla sleepers.

I'd guess Curtis Johnson, since he coached at Miami for 10 years, knows a thing or two about the Miami area. Tulane actually used to recruit Florida a lot in the 80s and 90s (Shaun King was from Tampa) and a lot of players on their '98 team were from Miami, Tampa, Jacksonville and Tallahassee, but they got away from it in the last decade or so. Now they're getting back into it.

Johnson has already started to turn things around. They're 5-2, 3-0 and if it wasn't for a G-d awful first half, they'd be 6-1 right now. He put together a good recruiting class last year and right after he was hired 1.5 years ago, getting a couple of kids to flip from Ole Miss and Texas A&M, and those were off of 2-10 seasons. I'm really excited to see what he can do now that they're moving into a better conference, have an on campus stadium opening next year, and are going to be a bowl team this year.

Is #202 in that video Khalari Clark? Diaz tosses him around like a wet bar rag. lol

The kid looked solid in that brief clip. Good luck to him.

202 was Cerenord. He was the only kid to match up with Cerenord all summer. Dont worry, Khairi didnt look any better. Diaz was the MVP of the camp. Over McDermott and Darling.

Tulane is really pounding the pavement. They are heavy on Cerenord and Dowels from heritage. CJ is building a good staff and might have something on his hand in a cpl years. Tulane will be in the AAC next year. Its also a private school in the middle of New Orleans so there will be some draw.

Diaz is probably the second best center down here behind A'Lique Terry. Plays with great leverage and technique. He will grow to 300lbs in college so size wont be an issue. Also if there is any position you can be short on the oline, its center.
