Ultimately, I don't think TVD is as good as his best was that season. He was in Joe Burrows type level numbers wise. But he's not as he was last season. I know that's a large range but, like you mentioned there are many variables.Random TVD/offense thoughts.
Which is more likely. TVD's 2021 season was a fluke, or a bad OC hampered his ability?
The OL is definitely better this year and has a little depth..
We have a dozen receivers and several of them are new. Several should do better without an anchor like Gattis around their necks.
We have a new OC not named Gattis.
With a decent OL and several good RB's, we're a genuine run threat, which helps the receivers.
It wouldn't surprise me if we have a very good season, but I don't think anyone can say for certain how it will go because so many variables have changed.
One thing I keep hearing, which I don't like as a fan or for him, is that the new OC is making things easy for him. Obviously, I want a qb who can breakdown defenses. That's also something that would be troublesome for him getting drafted, if scouts think he can't do it. I hope that's nit a real issue. Other than that, he's a big, strong, athletic enough qb. But, I do have WR concerns and the staff seemingly does also. Hopefully with a strong oline, improved running attack, and better OC we will be good.
I also agree, if those 3 things work out, we could gave a good season. Better than some people might think. But again, a lot of variables.
