QB situation theory

****, dream crusher! lol
Lol not trying to be, just reading the situation for what it is.

Fans typically don't wanna see the truth, they see & hear what they want, everyone wants Jarren to be the guy next year, but ask yourself do you really think Richt is going to start a Red Frosh next year?

could be the backups really are worse than Rosier, and Richt wants to hide his ineptitude this year, and use the "freshman QB" excuse for 2019.

Yeah, having Weldon and Perry not playing due to lack of discipline makes it apparent they can’t be trusted with the keys to the kingdom. Put Williams in and take your lumps with him these next 3 games. He seems to be the only focused enough on football to realize the other things (arriving at meetings on time, classwork; going to class, etc) matter when playing the position. Jarren offers us the best opportunity to get this **** show of a season turned around before we run into the meat of our schedule.

Yeah, and I don't have a problem with him being strict with Perry and Weldon, either. We can't get ourselves into a situation where our QB is breaking the rules. Maybe other schools can get away with kids not going to class, smoking up, what have you, but I don't think that is Miami's luxury.

I think that Richt probably does want JW to win the job, but with him not arriving until the summer, unfortunately it seems he just didn't feel like he was ready to step in to what seemed to be a team that was pretty experienced and ready to win now. I'm not saying that I agree with the choice of mediocre experience over the potential for good/great decision, and I don't think anyone knows if the thinking would have been different had we opened with Savannah State rather than LSU, but I've got to think that the opponent weighed heavily in the choice.

I think his choice of Rosier last season was based on Perry not getting to school until the summer, and then once things got going, it was tough to justify pulling Rosier, and burning Perry's RS. This season, from all reports, it sounds like Rosier was significantly better in practice, and maybe that Weldon and Perry weren't getting it done off the field either. While I think it is important to reward practice performance to a degree, so that you do have guys performing in practice, I think that at this point, it's clear that the practice Rosier is not the game Rosier.

I don't see how Richt will be able to continue to justify keeping Rosier on the field and these young guys off. Our QB is completing passes in the 40% range. He is not just killing us with his lack of accuracy, he's making terrible decisions with the ball, resulting in brutal turnovers. He's missing wide open WRs. He's pulling the ball down and running if his first read isn't there and creating pressure by breaking from the pocket prematurely. He's not allowing our guys to catch the ball and make plays afterwards. And, assuming the reports are true about guys in the locker room being understandably unhappy with his play, the guy who is supposed to lead our team has lost the faith of our team after 1 game this season. Rosier isn't Richt's guy, he's doing all the things that drive Richt crazy, and we have 3 young QBs who are available. It's time to give all of them a shot to step up and lead this team.
Jarren was here in spring

This is what I have been saying as well. Williams is the guy. It's time to show some balls and go with the future QB now.

Then you're possibly talking about another THREE losses this season ( FSU, VaTech and Boston College. ). Just saying. And don't give me this crap about FSU and what not. It's a rivalry game which both teams ALWAYS are ready to rumble and roll and all that. Witness the GoldenLESS years.

Oh, and one more notion. Is it asking too much for the defense to CARRY both the offense and PUNTING unit the rest of the season!

JW came in the spring. He played in the spring game.

Yes, I had a complete brain lock. Trying to rationalize away the QB decision-making process obviously didn't work out well for me. Thanks for correcting me. And, that obviously makes the whole situation, with Jarren at 4th on the QB chart, even worse.

Training wheels the chit out of the playbook (It pretty much is already) and let Williams run with it. Kid can make check downs and short to intermediate route throws.

This is exactly right. I'll admit I drank the off season kool-aid about Malik improving and being a leader, blah blah blah. After watching that garbage live, Malik is, for lack of a better word, trash. That may even be an insult to trash.

Richt's excuse about "knowing what to do" on play calls (regarding the other 3) is meaningless when your QB1 can't walk out there and hand it to wide open receivers. The playbook is already limited because of Malik what is the difference in riding with the other 3 for the next 3 games? Richt shouldn't worry about Malik's confidence anymore, he needs to not play. He has proven he can't get it done over the last 4 games against good defensive coaching. Practice shouldn't factor into that equation anymore, no need to see Malik anymore.

News flash for you than. YOU'RE LOOKING AT ANOTHER 2 TO 3 LOSSES WITH MALIK AS WELL & POSSIBLY LOSING HIS TEAM. THERES CLICKS FORMING MORE SO THAN EVER RIGHT NOW! This cant be allowed to continue. On top of that if we dont allow other qbs to get burn now for the sake of not only establishing whos the man moving forward but experience as well than these ****** *** gayturds are gonna completely destroy us next year... THAT I WILL COMPLETELY LOSE MY **** OVER! There is very lil downside to playing other qbs starting now.

Richt has been a coach for a long time. Despite what you think about him he knows he has to play the best person available. College Football is about winning now. Not stacking the deck for next year. Whoever has the best chance of giving us a win will start. He thought that was Rosier going into LSU game. Hopefully he has changed his mind.

Richt was also very excited about the redshirt rule changes etc. giving young players extended opportunity to show what they've got. I have no doubt he'll make appropriate changes after the other QB's showcase what they have in a real live game.

For the record Perry was committed under Golden, decommitted after the staff change, and was actively recruited by Richt and Co

Not only did he refuse to play Williams/Weldon, he refused to play Lingard, Pope, Scaife, et al. All talented guys that should be seeing a lot more PT.

Jahari Jones should turn his pads in. How tf did this guy ever get in the starting rotation? And Richt speak highly of the 1st unit Oline. Play the talent. Forget if their freshmen. Thee game has changed.

And by all accounts did well. No, he did t learn the entire offense but both Richt and Brown were very complimentary of his skill and his standing in and making a play- even if it wasn't The one originally called.

I have a really hard time believing that Jarren would be worse than Rosier RIGHT NOW. I see true freshman QBs playing every weekend and every single one of them is making throws that Rosier can’t make. This is so frustrating. Our next 3 games are perfect for a true freshman. I just really liked Jarren out of high school. He was way more polished than Kosi.

I agree! The only part I don't agree is that it will hurt Malik's confidence. I'm pretty sure that if you asked him that he would agree that he should be benched as well after performing like that in the last 4 games.
He wouldn't agree with being bench...he begged cmr to put him back in after stinking up the pitt game. Dude is not taking ownership for how he played Sunday

He is completing 40 percent of his passes. His parents probably would tell u he needs to hit the bench if they were the coach.
