QB Questions

Oh really, OP? You want a giant quarterback that can throw and run?! What a brilliant ****ing idea! You might've just revolutionized football!! Someone get the coaches on this...and hire this man!

Yes, I do, and they're out there almost every year.

This is a *** *** thread. Its amazing how many of them pop up when we lose

Not when we lose, but when our QB play has been sub-par, which it's been for 3 games now, or did you forget the squeakers over UNC and Wake?

We have a hurt QB who's not performing well and our backups are so bad that they can't even be tried? There are several, or should I say many, QBs in the FBS that most would take over Morris, and that's even when he's not hurt. Bottom line is that we need a serious upgrade at the QB position. If you don't believe that, then you've not been watching a lot of football lately.

The QB is the heart of the team and ours has not been pumping enough blood of late.

We dont need RGIII to win here. We just need a smart and consistent QB who can effectively run the offense and utilize all the speed and talent he has around him. That's it. If guys like Ken Dorsey and Alex Smith could do it, it just goes to show that in college its more about what you have between the ears, than hanging off your shoulder.

Alex Smith had rush attempts and yds as a senior in college similar to RGIII rushing stats.

U might wanna pair Dorsey with Weinke....Alex Smith goes in the athletic QB profile as a college QB.

1. Did we recruit Jameis Winston at all? If so, were we ever under consideration? If not, why not?

2. Why do we continue to recruit QBs who aren't mobile? Someone like a JW, RGIII, Newton.......?

I'd love to see us get a QB who's 6'4", 235lbs and can run as well as pass.

Morris just doesn't have "it". He can make some phenomenal throws, but throws a bad one or two for every good one. Mentally, he's a disaster back there. He gets flustered, doesn't see open receivers and throws into double and triple coverage way too often. He almost never checks down. Seems he has decided before the snap who he's throwing to.

Comments?

Morris is mobile.

Seems to me u are talking Manziel, RGIII or Cam Newton running ability, which not only doesnt fit our offense, head coaches here for the longest dont start QBs of that style or favour an offense that works for guys like that.

So if Torrance Gibson wants to play QB and he is looking for the right fit to highlight his style of play.....this is not the school for him unless he decides to play WR or our coaches have a serious change of offensive philosophy planned.

I disagree. I think it's a legit question. Really who is the last dual threat QB we had?? I would have to say Kenny Kelly.. We don't typically recruit those types of QB. It's becoming more and more the norm today to have a QB that can do both. I for one am excited to have pro style QBs as they are always the ones that excel at the next level, but sometimes it would be nice to have a qb that could create with his feet when need be and pose more problems to the def that straight coverage.

Marve was mobile, Jacory could take off when he wasn't afraid. Morris is mobile when his leg isn't ****ed up, we recruited Kevin Hogan who is at Stanford who is mobile, Coley has a history of mobile QBs at FSU, Rosier is mobile, Eduord is moble. The OP is clearly trying to describe a Cam Newton/Vince Young type player, or maybe Logan Thomas? I guess Thomas fits that description as well.

I want a QB where I don't have to hold my breath every time he throws the ball. How about we get one of those. Or maybe we have a few of those with Olsen/Kaaya. Intelligent, accurate to all parts of the field, enough arm strength to stretch the field vertically and horizontally, and if I have enough parts left over lets throw in the ability to get 5 yards on 3rd and 4 when there's a lane. Gimme one of those guys and I think we can win some football games.
