before anyone gets butt hurt and goes crazy ...... this is not a criticism, just a simple question.

Mark Richt has coached 2 Heisman QBs and if he is such a great developer of QBs and an offensive playcalling genius, then why aren't all the top QB prospects lined up and drooling to come play at Miami ?

Mark has been here 3 years now ..... the top rated QBs for the last 3 years sure as **** haven't even had the Canes on their radar.

Why is that ?

Jon Richt, enough said. Would you want to put you career in the hands of a guy that played at Mars Hill?

Well he landed or handed Jacob Eason the #1 qb in the country to uga and landed Jarren Williams who was top 80 overall in the country after Ohio state and auburn has zeroed in on him

80 ? compare that to what Clemson and Georgia is reeling in .

FFS, take a break, go outside...make a friend, walk your dog, call your mom, play with your kids...

Kids today have no idea who Weinke and Ward are. Don't think it is that impressive that Richt was their oc af FSU.

fixed it for you ... now please answer the question if you can

2006: Matthew Stafford #5 overall ESPN 300
2007: Logan Gray #40 overall ESPN 300
2009: Aaron Murray #13 overall ESPN 300
2011: Christian LeMay #100 overall EPNS 300 (#70 247)
2013: Bryce Ramsey #115 overall ESPN 300
2014: Jacob Park #93 overall ESPN 300
2016: Jacob Eason #15 overall ESPN 300 (he committed to Richt) Jack Allison #68 overall ESPN 300 (stay committed to Richt after Golden)
2017: N'Kosi Perry #84 overall ESPN 300
2018: Jarren Williams #106 overall ESPN 300

Going into college, those are some pretty high recruiting rankings.

He was the #5 qb in the last class #77 overall in the top 100 and is Miami highest rated QB since what Kyle Wright? Also Jarren outperformed Lawrence at the opening and in the army practice week so he not some trash qb like you are trying to insinuate either

Bro, let's keep it real. That was back in 1993 and 2000 and he was the OC. FSU is not associated w/ Richt back then; it's associated w/ Bobby Bowden. Maybe if he coached some Heisman winners when he was the headman, things would be different.

Furthermore, his other claim to fame is Matthew Stafford, and he ain't setting the world on fire in the NFL. He had that one good year in 09, I believe, and that's about it. Ward never even went to the NFL and Weinke straight stunk. Not a lot of real success.

The QBs he’s being credited with “developing” are legit old enough to be grandfathers of the guys we are recruiting now.

Having said that, they’ve actually done a pretty good job signing the guys they’ve targeted. So, either: a. they’re targeting the wrong guys; b. just not able to get them prepared to play; or c. trying to plug them into a busted system that makes it incredibly difficult for anyone to succeed in.

Good stuff overall, but Stafford will be an NFL HOFer. He just plays on a **** team and has never been on a big stage.

Stafford in no f'ing way will be a HOFer. lol. One pro bowl don't get you in my man. Now if you're saying he leaves, and resurrects his career like Rich Gannon w/ another team and knock out 4 more pro bowls, then maybe.

You Nic picking now. Jarren Williams was elite QB prospect. He wasn’t lawrence but that kid was in his own class tbh. But you’re logic all the top QBs should be looking at mike leach or jim at Uof M. Some kids just don’t want to go to Miami. It’s that simple. You’d have a point if we weren’t landing top 20 QBS but we are. And we need to stop expecting freshman QBS to be ready day 1. That’s rare. You need a perfect situation around them in order for their early success and team success. Saban didn’t start a Freshman QB in year 3. Neither did dabo. If we had a perfect situation I could see letting the Young go. But even at the next level you see high picks get rushed into bad situation instead of allowing them development and it ruins guys.

im not "insinuating" anything, pal.
i simply asked a question on a football forum in an attempt to provoke some thoughtful and semi-intelligent discussion..
