QB garbage time

Williams will learn far more with a clipboard than handing off in the SS game..

You better believe it.

Richt wants ALL of the backups to get some snaps - especially Williams - who's shown real skills - but doesn't know the playbook - and still makes plays even when he doesn't exactly know the play.

Williams looks like the future at this point.
 
I fully expect all 3 backups to play sometime in the next 5 games. If not, Richt has a problem.
 
Depends on the starter - if he continues to play one good half and one avg/bad half may not see enough blowouts
 
It's all about the new red shirt rule. If you can play him up to 4 games with no penalty then you should def see him this year. It will give Richt a better understanding of what the 3 behind Rosier can bring during a real game situation.
 
#2 (or co #1) job will be determined on the field vs Savannah, FIU, maybe Toledo. Forget about the other factors.
 
I would give em all a half. We got Savannah State, FIU, and Toledo. I personally would play Jarren vs FIU or Toledo so he can see D1 speed. Kosi can play Savannah State since his thing is diagnosing coverages.
 
The interesting factor will be if Richt plays one of the backups in a close game. Barring injury, I suspect not.

We all expect Savannah State to be over by the end of the first quarter. Best opportunity to see the backups get game experience, opponent notwithstanding. Williams could start and play the whole game and the Canes win by 50. The experience does not prove much but does let the backups play against someone other than Canes.

Toledo and FIU are the best next bets. Toledo gave us a game last season, and this year the game is a road game. I expect a Canes rout, not unlike App State two seasons ago. FIU should be a blowout.

When do you bring in the backups?

Would Richt RUTS given or taking the opportunity?

Backups early......up 21..... Slight pressure.... Defense should keep us alive if we implode.
