kaaya has better pocket presence and is more accurate than a 24 year senior qb..... Start kaaya, he has a higher upside and can do just as much as heaps and very likely more than him......

How do you know this Kaaya has a better pocket presence? Have you seen Kaaya face a rush yet on a college level?

It's fall camp with our first game over 3 weeks away. What exactly do you expect people to talk about?

Not This - "And so it begins. He will talk up Heaps so when he names him the starter, people will fall in line. Al Golden, the most intelligent man in the room; or so he thinks.

He insults our intelligence."

It really is funny that we are crowning whomever. I think Heaps will keep the seat warm for 2/3 weeks till Williams is ready and Kaaya will redshirt imho. A healthy Williams is not sitting on the bench. I think they would rather redshirt Kaaya. It will pay of better in the long run.

See, this is a good post about the QB competition.

Again, not this - "And so it begins. He will talk up Heaps so when he names him the starter, people will fall in line. Al Golden, the most intelligent man in the room; or so he thinks."

"He insults our intelligence."

So it's OK to talk about the QB situation so long as Kaaya's not the starter? LOL! Just enjoy the fact that for the first time in a decade we actually have a real QB competition.

Also, what does that crimson represent?

Never said that. I have nothing against Kaaya, I hope he ends up taking the Canes to national championships. I'm also a CA guy so I'm biased towards him.

I discovered this website while in law school, crimson refers to the law school I was attending at the time.

No one hates Kaaya. Far from it. But what exactly has he done. They haven't even put on pads yet. He probably is better of redshirting. Williams will be back and he is a 5th year Sr. Heap will get first crack at it imo then Williams comes back. Next year a seasoned Kaaya takes over a loaded offense. With Dobard, Coley, 35 tailbacks. No matter what you hear from practice he is a true FR. Every single FR u seen ball out has been a redshirt Fr. It helps to go thru game week prep, visiting the stadiums and watch and learn plus get acclimated to college life. It helped Manzeil, it help Rapist, going back to even Laundry Jones.

It's a message board. Everyone is just giving opinions based on limited information. Of course we know we don't have enough information to make the decision. In other words we know we are all full of crap for now anyway

It's annoying that everyone in here is a all of a sudden a QB's coach. Everyone is deciding who should start based on a few 10 second vine videos, and tweets by reporters who probably never played football and/or don't know much about football. None of you are in the Qb meetings, none of you know if they are making the right reads, none of you know what is going on in the heads of Golden and Coley, and none of you are watching the full practices.

For example, everyone got all excited about Kaaya running with the ones. But, then today Olsen ran with the ones and Coley said that every QB was going to get a chance to run with the ones. Therefore, everyone who read into Kaaya running with ones, and said he should start if he is already running with the ones were just flat out wrong.

Who the **** knows who will start? Stop muddying up the boards and threads by arguing who should start, because frankly most of you either 1) don't have enough information to say who should start or 2) even if you had the information don't know anything about what it takes to be a QB.
I I
Cheez Crimson. You would think we were a bunch of oh let's see...fans.

The hyperbole in general is awful but it's a bunch of football starved fanatics so I wouldn't expect anything different. Some of it's making threads unreadable though.

(Bane voice) Then why are you here?

To read about how camp is going! Not to hear people argue who will start based on tweets and 10 second videos.

Hey, at least it's not another thread about the defense. Gotta take the victories when you can get them.

Whomever wins the job should start, if it's really close, then I think the younger guy should get the nod, we all know that if it's close the older guy will.

Is this dude really just name himself crimson cane and talk down to everyone then act all coy when asked what the crimson was for? Thanks for saving the site from itself...

Why don't you start an actual thread about hurricane football, as opposed to trying to be a sheep herder and tell people what they should and should not talk about.

And yes, I stick to my opinion on Golden talking up Heaps.

I was listening to ESPN radio on the way home tonight and a couple NCAA coaches were on (i forgot who) but they were talking about their own programs and saying realistically this decision boils down to you are trading a true freshman season vs (more than likely) a redshirt junior season with the same player. It was an interesting perspective. What is better for the program? Having a QB as a fresh and leaving jr year or having him RS and have him finish as a redshirt junior? Granted some RS sophs leave but that is like 1 of 100.

Break fresh records at byu and be victim of the highest drop rate in ncaa last season? You guys and your love of qbs that have done nothing in there career. True freshman in acc will have a very steep learning curve. Heaps is far beyond Kayaa and its not close. Just like people who beg for Ryan Williams to get back and start. TBH he's a stiff, a statue that hasnt shown a whole lot. What he was was a safe option at the qb in a season of transition at the position. Nothing spectacular.

That's interesting, but still it seems like there can be more harm done by not starting the best player, in this case even a true freshman, than losing a rs year. Of course we can't know, but what if the difference between Kaaya and Heaps is 2 wins and an ACC championship? Seems like profile and recruiting would take a hit more detrimental than Kaaya's lost rs. Naturally I have no knowledge of if he's that good; that's why I read your guys' thoughts. If over the course of fall camp he shows that he is THAT GOOD though I feel like he has to start without worrying about a luxurious redshirt. If heaps is better, which may be the case, hopefully BK can redshirt (provided healthy williams, un-****headed olsen backup).

Everything I've read today suggest Heaps is having a very good camp as well. Golden said he doesn't repeat mistakes. Kaaya is having a very good camp as well. I think we're seeing more of Kaaya's good throws because he is the fan favorite. Seems to be close between the two of them. My guess is when pads come on and the defense starts moving more Heaps will probably have an advantage in his reads due to experience. We'll see. I like both of them so far. Seems like the reports have Olsen and Rosier farther behind.
