QB Daniel Parr commits to FAU....

Confused why we don't take Stanley (the local kid). Since we've got left at the alter, it seems simple.

Cut Crow (complete waste for 3 years already) and take Stanley and Parr. Redshirt both.

Wow do u live in a fantasy world. Hey Gray Crow....thanks for working so hard for us practicing and making a position change for the last 3 year and doing everything u can for the team but... were taking away your scholorship go finish your degree somewhere else. Yea you'd prolly never coach again and lose all respect from recruits and players. And are you so vein that Parr would just jump on the chance to spend his entire career for the most part on the bench than start for FAU?

Hey Kelly,

Thanks for doing the lord's work and giving Crow a "scholorship" (aka charity) for 3 years. It's time to tell your husband that 3 years of free tuition ($120,000+ value) is a sufficient donation.

Hard work isn't enough but Kelly your husband wouldn't even know that because the kids aren't practicing.

Thanks,

Tom

PS who is Gary Crow?

You're making it look like Golden hasn't done that before. every program does it

Also you're making it look like he was a great QB and changed position to help out the team.

Who has he or any big program coach done that to?

Key word there is graduate. Crow has not graduated?? Nowhere near the same thing.

We do drop guys if they don't transfer on their own and can't compete for a job.

This rarely happens and we typically do it after 4 years after they get their degree so they can transfer and play somewhere else there senior year.
-David Perry
-Cory White

Most guys who see themselves burried on the depth chart know or are told that they won't ever start here will transfer on there own.
-Ray Lewis III
-Beau Sandland
-Vernon Davis
-Jacoby Briscoe
-Robert Lockhart
-Danny Dillard
-Larry Hope
-Dwayne Hoilett
-Junior Alexis
-Ricardo Williams
-Jalen Grimble
-Kevin Nelson
-Devont'a Davis
-Andrew Tallman
-Keion Payne
-Darion Hall
-Jamal Reid
-Billy Sanders
-Jermaine Johnson
-Jermaine Barton

There are a few on the list that the staff wanted to keep for depth but they did not want to wait or want to start.

Not a single person on that list fits the description of what were talking about. All those either graduated/transfered/suspended. None were "cut" as the other poster refered to it.

They were all transfers but I think cuts are made indirectly when a player is told they won't get to play or start at the U. Some players may be OK with that and choose to come back but most will choose to transfer.

Andrew Tallman:
"My brother was kicked off the team for not playing well enough and not being passionate about the sport (in the eyes of the staff). He was TOTALLY blind sided by it. He worked very hard in the weight room, on his speed, and on his game to receive only 6 reps ALL spring during TEAM time."

Jamal Reid:
"“It’s very disappointing,” Reid said. “ I don’t want to leave. But at the end of the day, I have to do what’s best for me.”

Reid, a 6-foot-1, 190-pound redshirt sophomore-to-be who never saw action at UM, had fallen way down the depth chart. He said he barely got any reps during spring practice, and when he met with secondary coach Paul Williams, was told it might be a good idea to transfer as he’d be working with the scout team in the fall. "

Jacoby Briscoe:
After spending his first season as a reserve on the defensive line and using a redshirt season in 2012, Briscoe was eventually switched to the offensive line during spring practice. He continued making little movement up the depth chart and now the Hurricanes have four offensive line commitments in the 2014 class, and asked for a release from his scholarship in early June 2013.

Scholarships are limited by how many you can sign each year and total number. Since we are under our total allotment even with sanctions and signing a full class, it's not like shedding Crow or the handful of others that people see as non-contributors helps us. It's an 85 man roster (more with walk-ons). Not everyone will contribute directly and you need scout team guys. Saban cuts guys because he over-signs stocked classes every year. We aren't there yet. How about we worry about the real issues like signing talented players at positions of need and not ***** about guys on the roster who have no impact on anything?

Al has so much attrition he doesn't really need to cut anyone. Not sure why people have issue with Gary. Lot of kids end up being practice squad type not through their fault. It not like we have Vinny and Bernie as freshmen backing up Kelly and Mark Richt. We have Kaaya and a baseball player from Alabama not named Winston, and just loss our QB recruit for this year--thanks Al. Why cut him? Al will just replace him with some last minute chump to be cut later. Gary has put in his sweat and time, leave the kid alone. The players are family. The coaches are hired hands who throw family under the bus -- pick on them.
