Tell me why Perry would enter the draft early. I'd agree if he was 6'5" 230, but he is not your prototypical NFL QB. His best bet is to stay around as long as possible, refine his game as much as possible, then hope for the best with the draft.
 
And START THE GUY WHO GIVES US THE BEST CHANCE TO POTENTIALLY BE BETTER THEN WHAT WE WERE THE YEAR BEFORE ie Clemson, Alabama, or any other team that has a QB battle in 2018. We did not do that with Rosier. We committed to him when he wasn't the best option. We're suppose to commit to the best option not the player. We don't OWE a player anything other then a chance to compete PERIOD. So many people think we owe Rosier because we won 10 games with him..

Rosier was named the starter for game one for the simple reason that the coaches felt he was the best option to beat LSU.

It made sense at the time.

Rosier is a Sr. vs Perry a Redshirt Fr.
Rosier 14 game starts vs Perry 0 game starts
Rosier played in and won big games vs Perry 0 snaps and 0 game experience= untested
Rosier understands the playbook vs Perry, still learning
Perry more athletic/better arm talent vs Rosier who is serviceable

In hindsight, we don't know if starting Perry vs LSU would have made a difference in the outcome. For all we know, it could have made things worse with Perry taking a beating game one and then Rosier being named the starter later in the year. We do not know.

I think the coaches made the logical decision in starting Rosier and then made a great decision benching him in favor of Perry.

How about get a life quit acting like cis is some encounter group.let the qb situation work itself out.it'll be ok if one transfers there's nothing nobody here on cis can do about it.just hope the loser of the qb race is patient enough to wait his turn if it's Williams.

Completely agree, I think #4 is what happens. Perry plays well and leaves for the NFL after his junior year. Jarren is the man for the next 2 years after. We'll have recruited other QBs by then to take over when Jarren leaves, and yes.........the QB U pipeline rises again.

Alternatively, if Perry doesn't play well, Jarren will simply take his job ahead of schedule. If Perry doesn't get it done, I have no doubt that JW will be breathing down his neck to the point where it'll be impossible to keep him on the sideline. I don't think that will happen, though, I think the competition will actually help Perry excel.
 
Every position should be up for grabs every week unless a guy is playing at an all American level like Willis or Thomas.

Right idea, but I don't see Perry entering the draft as a RS Sophomore. I think he enters as a RS Junior. Williams would start in 2021 and 2022.
 
You never know. TBH, after the first half of FSU game, I was talking to myself “he is not the guy.” Perry still needs to prove himself, the competition should always remain open

Dude Jacory at the beginning was a revelation . He just never got better. Kid is still one of the most storied passers in UM history though so it ain't like he is trash. Miami over the last 20 years has had alot of good BUT JUST NOT GREAT QBs. Jacory is one of these. Perry has the chance to be great but again he could be Jacory . Time will tell.

Richt has to convince Jarren that staying at UM is in his best interest and that if he stays the course, he will make it to the NFL which is what Jarren said was the reason why he chose UM.

If Jarren wins the 2019 job, N'kosi gone. No QB that starts an entire year is going to sit the bench for his remaining eligibility. Besides Perry not being ready, this is why Rosier was named the starter in the Spring. If N'kosi was named the starter, we may have lost Rosier and Jarren may have had doubts about sticking with UM. This is why there will be an open QB competition in the Spring regardless of how Perry plays.

One of my all time favorite shows. I would say I'm team Avon. I think Marlow was what Avon used to be. Marlow smelled blood and seen weakness when Avon was locked up. Stringer didn't want the bodies so it hurt the Barksdale Crew. I think Avon wins in his prime. Marlow was cold though. Really Stringer messed it all up trying to kill Mouzone. Then he had to cut Prop Joe and the west side dudes in. One thing Avon and Marlow had in common was **** those west side n's!!! lol!!! Let me stop becuase I can go on forever about this show.

I know you mean well, but I literally hate this statement so much.

We're fans. Were allowed to look ahead. Us "focusing" on UVA doesnt help the ******* team lol
