QB Competition

6 QB's on the roster and not a one of them ready to start.

by all accounts williams was ready to start.

Yep. The word "was" is past tense. Meaning not anymore.

It's ok you probably went to public school.

Let's hope your parents didn't waste their money on putting you through private school.

The point is, there are no teams in college football that have two guys ready start. Your comment, which isn't the best example of brightness, implied that our staff couldn't even get one guy ready, completely ignoring that by all accounts Williams was ready. Now if you want to say, we don't even have two guys ready to start, then that'd make more sense, but then I'd refer you back to my first point.

Maybe not two guys ready, but most top teams have kids prepped and ready to step in. I don't think there is enough data at this point to say a **** thing. Olsen had a bad spring. That doesn't mean we write him off. By all accounts Golden is bringing in Heaps as insurance and he may pan out and be even better than that. At a minimum its sending Olsen the right message, you will have to earn the right to start.

We're not playing tomorrow, so I'm not really concerned about who's "ready" yet.

My original point is that we've got a lot of talented guys at the QB position who are projected to be **** good players, as opposed to the sh1tstorm in 2009 where only 1 (Japicky) seemed like a legit option, and we were just hoping for the rest to do something/anything to be a serviceable QB.

We still have a touch less than 2.5 months for these guys to work in Offseason Workouts and Fall Camp. I like our chances for one of these guys to emerge and be a capable trigger man in Ryan Williams' absence.

Ok Since you want to intentionally play stupid and pretend to be daft I'll try a more Sesame Street approach.

Sr. w/game experience
Sr. w/game experience (but none in our system)
So. w/ very limited game experience (6-8 1TD 1 INT career)
Fr. w/zero game experience
Fr. w/zero game experience
Fr. w zero game experience
Fr. walk on w/zero game experience
Fr. walk on w/ zero game experience

Something doesn't seem right with the vertical depth/game experience. It would seem that the coaching staff has fvcked up somewhere. Without RW there isn't a single player there that has legitimate game experience playing in this system.

I'll let you public school kids figure it out.

Lol Cane dynasty clearly doesn't understand how college football works. You realize it's impossible to have players who have extensive playing time at every position right? Every team in the country is playing players who have limited experience at one position or another, sometimes that means qb. Any number of top teams are gunna be breaking in new QBs, it happens every year.

exactly even Alabama qbs look like crap in the spring.who no game experience because of aj mcarron. they may have got a better transfer though.

Is this ***ing guy for real? or is he trolling?

how the *** do you expect for the 3rd & 4th string QBs to have gotten any meaningful experience last year?

Yeah, Golden should have pulled Morris out vs FSU and inserted Olsen so he can get a feel for playing our rival on the road.. yeah that makes total sense bro.

Unfortunately he and his buddies are for real... this board has gone down a lot the past year or so. His 1,692 posts since 2013 is a big part of the reason why. IMO

Soooooo....in 1982 when Jim Kelley got hurt, Miami's season went into the toilet because Schnellenberger - in his forth year - did not have a competent backup ready to play. Does that mean that they fvcked up as a coaching staff. I'm just trying to establish the baseline for fvcked up.

DEAD RT ftfo @PS: I was serious about the help for mentally retarded kids with cognitive disability. I can put you in touch with some quality free resources that could benefit you. The first part of getting better is to admit you have a problem. PM me.

This is in the running for stupidest question ever.

Yeah it's so stupid that it got you stomped and can't answer it.

OK Albert I'll help you figure this one out too. (You should castigate your public school teachers. They failed you.)

We had more than one year to get guys signed and experienced as backups. Get it? MORE THAN ONE YEAR.

Hope that helps.

There are also some great online resources that help people with remedial cognitive skills. PM me for more info.

Who's fsus experienced backup? I'll wait.

@Cane Dynasty are you serious or is this some crazy joke?

You do realize that in 2012 Gray Crow & Preston Dewey were redshirting and in 2013 Kevin Olsen was redshirting. So do you believe that is would have been smart for Al to burn these kids redshirts to give them garbage minutes?

Also are you blaming this staff for Dewey and Williams being injured?

Because if Williams was not injured there would be 2 QB's on this roster with playing experience.
