2027 QB Board (2027 Edition)

College football staffs are not yet permitted to directly speak to 2027 recruits at their schools but are still able to watch workouts and practices and meet with their coaches.

Offensive coordinator Shannon Dawson is expected to be in Alabaster, Ala. Monday to check up on four-star prospect Trent Seaborn, one of Miami’s top priorities in next year’s cycle, after being previously expected to see the No. 182 overall prospect and No. 15 quarterback last Friday. Dawson will also stop in Fairhope, Ala. this week for top-50 quarterback Gunner Rivers, the son of NFL veteran Philip Rivers.

CaneSport
expects Dawson to be in the Louisiana area this week as well to check up on blue-chip priorities Peyton Houston, the No. 49 overall prospect in the cycle and a longtime top target on the Hurricanes’ board, and No. 3 overall recruit and five-star prospect Elijah Haven. Miami has recruited both hard for more than a year and is high on both.

We also expect Dawson to be in Port Charlotte (Fla.) for fast-rising top-200 quarterback Logan Flaherty, who received a four-star ranking in the initial 2027 On300 and has seen offers steadily roll in this spring after only holding three FBS offers at the end of last fall. Flaherty has not yet earned a Miami offer, but considering he’s already landed offers from Florida and Florida State, it wouldn’t stun us if the 6-foot-2, 285-pound gunslinger picks one up from the Hurricanes this week.

**Kid is 185 but their typo of 285 would hilarious with a Mario line + Heze Kent**

Pretty familiar with the Cheshire Academy program. Just had a kid commit to them tonight. Will be Keegan’s LT this year, 6’7 2027. Announce in a week or so.

This kid and my QB train at the M2 Training Academy (my college teammate) they pump out bunch of P4 QBs recently (Notre Dame, Texas AM, UCLA, South Carolina, Virginia, Coastal Carolina etc…)

At this stage of the process, there are two names near the top of the board: Trent Seaborn and Peyton Houston.

Miami is also high on No. 1 overall player Elijah Havenout of Baton Rouge (La.) Dunham School and Bastrop (Texas) Top247 quarterback Weston Nielsen.

Flower Mound (Texas) Marcus Top247 Colton Nussmeier, the younger brother of LSU quarterback Garrett Nussmeier and son of New Orleans Saints offensive coordinator Doug Nussmeier, is also on the radar, as is Benton (La.) Top247 arm Malachi Zeigler. Miami will get a more in-depth look at those two during the spring evaluation period.
Seaborn is from Hawaii and he moved to Alabama because of Tua. With Tua in Miami and the recruiting director from Hawaii, maybe a shot here.

Jesus dude started in the 8th Grade for the 7A Thompson football team and led them to a State championship, that's absolutely insane.

Another name that Miami is high on is Fairhope (Ala.) St. Michael's Catholic's Gunner Rivers, the son of eight-time Pro Bowl quarterback Phillip Rivers. At 6-oot-3.5, 205-pounds, Rivers is considered the No. 27 overall player and No. 3 quarterback in the Class of 2027.

Miami and Rivers haven't been linked to one another much throughout the process, but there is plenty of interest in Coral Gables. Rivers threw for over 3000 yards as both a freshman and a sophomore.

This season, Rivers owns a 21-1 touchdown-to-interception ratio with over 1100 yards passing in five games.

We've learned that Dawson will spend some time around Rivers this week as well.
