This game wasn't great by any stretch of the imagination, but it's also not the end of the world...
On the positive side, our defense played great and held them to only 47yds rushing & most of that came on the TD run which wouldn't have even happened if Jenkins wraps the guy up.
We absolutely got after Driskel all game long and was in FAU's backfield on nearly every play.
I believe we had 13TFL's & 7 Sacks (couldn't find specific individual Defensive stats, but I counted stats on Post game Play-by-Play, so correct me if I'm wrong). Point being, we completely dominated the line of scrimmage.
Individually, Pickney, Chad, DJack, McIntosh, Jenkins (despite the late TD run), Redwine, Jaquan & the entirety of the Defense all had a stellar game.
On Offense, Walton & Yearby single-handedly won the game for us... Kaaya was pretty **** bad & the OL wasn't great either, although I felt they did a good job in run blocking, but were below average in Pass blocking.
There's no question we need to improve in these areas, and I believe we will. I don't think we should project this performance onto other games in the future simply based on the fact that college football is a week to week pendulum swing for a lot of teams.
That doesn't mean we're not going to have anymore bad games later this season, because we are, but it also doesn't mean we're not going to have great games later this season because we are.
To put things in perspective, here's some of the scores from week 2:
Bama vs West Kentucky - 38-10
Clemson vs Troy - 30-24
UGA vs Nicholls - 26-24
Notre Dame vs Nevada - 39-10
Ole Miss vs Wofford - 38-13
LSU vs Jacksonville St - 34-13
Central Michigan vs Ok St - 30-27
Baylor vs SMU - 40-13
And so on and so forth... What's my point? Long season, a lot more games left to be played & no reason to have a panic attack over a bad performance by Kaaya vs FAU.
