i gotta be honest, i'm kind of wondering if all the bubble screens and quick RPOs were due to an injury to mensah. there's very little discernible reason to have been spamming all that stuff the way we were otherwise.

The three players that make our offense special were all hurt. It was gross but I am not concerned unless any of those injuries are serious.

No way around it, that was probably the sloppiest half of football we’ve seen under Mario since we actually had talent. Six straight three-and-outs to end the game. Mensah was missing reads and throws we’ve seen him make probably 100 times. The defense probably whiffed on 30 tackles in the second half.

And the injuries are everywhere! Brown is likely done for the season. Mali gets hurt. Fletcher gets hurt. We’re already down our three best CBs on defense. If we can’t get healthy, then this season is just going to be an 8–9 win year. Unfortunately, you just can’t deal with that many injuries and expect to make the CFP if it keeps getting worse.

I almost feel he we were trying to get Mensah that consecutive completions record. Once Mensah got over 20, we just started doing short dump offs tunnel screens. Once he had that first incompletion, he looked off. We went from playing aggressive to playing real safe trying to get that record. We had the wrong mindset. Mensah may have also got banged up shortly after that. Obviously, Fletch, Brown, and Toney were all out for most of the 2nd half as well. Combination of things. Hopefully, that's the last we will see of that, because that 2nd half stretch was awful.

I think Mario on offense played it safe. You’re up 3 scores with a quarter and a half to go. Marty, Fletcher, and Toney either hurt or out. Wake basically became one dimensional on offense and had no answer for the nickel blitz. The pass rush was picking up. He bet on the defense and they came through
