As the biggest problem on this team and the key inhibitor to a true ACC champ run..

Rewatched the game and the game is an absolute blowout with an average punt squad.. blocking kicking, coverage, tackling

The blueprint is simple stop the run and make Miami punt and you’re in business

What can be done??!

Fire Hartley from it. He’s either not good at it or kids are not executing, either way, it’s on him.

Richt and Hartley have no choice but to put more than a handful of defensive starters on the punt unit. Otherwise this unit is going to cost Miami a win latter on.

Special teams was an utter ****show minus the 2 returns from JT and Dallas. Thomas also had a solid return until he was brought down on a dirty *** facemask.

While I agree that STs is an absolute disaster, still feel our OL is the bigger concern. Heck if we get better on the OL, maybe we won't ever have to punt.

Hartley doesn’t need to be fired. He is great with TE’s and on the trail. He just needs the ST duties taken away. CMR needs to fire his son/Patke. Then we can hire someone with some actual experience on either side of the ball with some ST experience who can coach that too.

We need Hartley, we just don’t need him coaching teams.

You give Bolware ( Start him over Jahair. ) and Scaife a majority of the snaps and play Donaldson at G, I guarantee the offensive line will perform better!

We have to put Feagles back in, sad. I was saying FSU should have scored 13 points at most. They will go back to getting trashed next few games. I don't know what is being done about the ST. We may be better off dealing with Feagles shanks than Spicer kicking them inbounds but low as **** with plenty of return options.

And i keep telling people it was the same thing that cost us the game v LSU, more than the offense. It sucks when 15 yards put the opponent in FG range which is what we have to deal with. When they were backed up we could attack on D in the second half.

Yeah. LSU scores 20 points off " sweet field position. " Even with the INT touchdown by LSU, Miami still would've been in that game down to the waning minutes. But that's all moot now.:youre-nuts:

Playing with f ing fire. Going to have to put more starters on that unit unfortunately. The FSU punt return for a TD.... Knowles and Jordan Butler were the two cats closest to the returner. That is the issue.

We had a DC named Lovett who was also the ST guy, and our guys were laying the wood on special teams; even the punter lol. Whats he doing nowadays?

Gotta go the middle school football route on this one:

1. Put all players in a single file line
2. Each player gets one punt
3. Top ten distances advance to second round
4. Each top 10 player gets a second-round punt.
5. Advance to third round if necessary.
6. Distribute orange slices.

I blame the tackling as much as the punter, if not more. Matthews was surrounded on at least one of those return. Absolutely no reason he should've gotten loose there. On another, Homer had a pretty poor attempt at making a tackle that he should've made.

I’d take a 25 yard shank over a 35 yard line drive that is easily returned 15-20 yards. Shanks suck, but they aren’t returned for TDS.
