One of the bigger trick plays wasnt caught by the announcers and dont think discussed on the board

Little over 7 minutes to play FSU punting
- We had two guys back
- Jeff Thomas pretended he was going to catch the ball close to the UM sideline and a bunch of FSU guys were fooled
- DeeJay caught the ball in the middle of the field and ran untouched for about 30 yards

Although we didnt score it was the ONLY time we flipped the field on special teams

I hope we keep doing it because it was the 1st time in a while we were able to get decent returns.

The Thomas punt return just before this one was a solid return, too - maybe 40 yds.

Yea, people on here will ignore any positive ST play but make weekly threads about punting and ****. Like it's a hot take that others have yet to realize.

We return just fine and I do not recall any mishandling when we receive BUT our coverage and punting are horrendous. It is our biggest weakness and needs to be fixed for us to even think of being elite. We may need more starters on ST's but something has to be done. On the TD return it seemed the FSU player acted like he had fair caught the ball and delayed starting to run, like another team did last week and was shown on ESPN. I may be wrong but I'll have to re-watch to be sure, and that is not an excuse for lame coverage.

no one cares about our returns because they are fine.... punting and and punt coverage are a different story. which doesn't make sense bc if they practice vs this return team we have they should be good.

special teams seemed to be trying out a lot of new things yesterday

Those were good plays, but they're the exception. Our ST have been bad overall, that's undeniable.
